Final Verdict

93%

The Guardian 921 is well engineered, with a sharp look, and some great design elements that help to keep it competitive in the world of mid-atx cases. The tool less design, good thermal and noise performance, and front panel LCD are all features that help raise it above the pack. The insulated water tubing ports and smart 120mm fan placement helps keep the Guardian 921 cool, even with average to high overclocks. The only thing keeping the Guardian 921 from being a truly perfect case is the accuracy of the LCD at high temperatures. It just doesn’t seem to keep up with fast temperature swings and spikes, but as the reading was never more than 4 degrees off, it is still a valuable addition that is very useful for monitoring general case temps. Software monitoring solutions should still be your primary way of keeping track of your hardware, but the LCD can be useful for giving you a heads up should something seem out of a place.

In the short span of 4 years, NZXT continues to innovate in the world of computer cases. Their tool less design, excellent and effective fan placement, and regard for innovative features help set many of their offerings apart from the rest of the pack. The Guardian 921 is another in the long line of cases from NZXT that continues to establish a tradition of good craftsmanship, excellent feature set, and great quality. The front panel LCD is a good addition to an already well designed case and continues to contribute to NZXT’s dedication to innovative products in the world of PC components.
