Let's look at the gaming results first, with a TNT thrown in for comparison as the current state of the art in 2D/3D cards. Before we start, I should note that the TNT is running at a very mild overclock of 100mhz instead of 90mhz.

Turok 2
Resolution Rage128 RivaTNT 100Mhz

1024x768x32 44.0 32.2

800x600x16 59.0 61.3
800x600x32 56.3 44.0

1024x768x32 33.1 26.4

Viper Racing
Resolution Rage128 RivaTNT 100Mhz
800x600x16 53.5 53.8
1024x768x16 49.6 50.4

Dethkarz
Resolution Rage128 RivaTNT 100Mhz
640x480x16 52 61.3
640x480x32 49.9 55.87
800x600x16 40.4 58.9
800x600x32 38 36.3
1024x768x16 35.2 33.6
1024x768x32 29.5 21.8

ATI has improved performance a bit since my preview, but then so has nVidia with the Detonator driver release. The interesting story here, as before, lies with the 32-bit color results. ATI owns high resolutions at high color depths. TNT pretty much takes it away at lower resolutions though. The thing is, how many people play games at 1024x768x32? While 33fps is signficantly faster than 26, is it at a point where people care to use it?
