MidiLand

Computer audio enthusiasts will recognize MidiLand as a brand synonymous with high performance and high value multimedia speakers. A few years ago, MidiLand proved that there was a market for high-end multimedia speakers with its highly acclaimed S2-4100 system. Since that time, MidiLand has continued to innovate, most recently with multi-channel systems and Dolby Digital decoders. Today, we take a look at MidiLand's flagship product, the S4-8200 5.1 surround sound speaker system.

The S4-8200 is billed as an 8-piece multimedia speaker system. Go wipe that drool of your lip, this isn't a 7.1 channel system, rather MidiLand is just counting the remote and Dolby Digital decoder as part of the package. Compared to the last MidiLand speaker set we tested, the S4-7100, the S4-8200 adds more power (200 watts vs. 100 watts), larger drivers in the satellites, and a bundled Dolby Digital decoder.
