The Bomb

Thresh:
It seems like almost every day someone drops a bombshell on the gaming community. Just on the heels of 3DFX's Voodoo3 preview, our good friend Sharky from Sharky Extreme let loose some top-secret, hush-hush info about Metabyte, creators of the Wicked3D Voodoo2. The big news? "SLI" on TNT2, Savage 4, Voodoo3, or virtually anything else, only from Metabyte. It sounds incredible, but this hardware/software combination, unofficially dubbed "Stepsister" allows for any chipset to be doubled up for twice the performance on a single system.

Kenn:
We've actually been hearing buzz about "TNT SLI" from sources close to Metabyte for over a week now, but we were definitely surprised (in a good way) when we were invited over on Thursday to take a look for ourselves and examine the product from a hardcore gaming standpoint. The Metabyte offices are located in my hometown of Fremont, so we had no trouble zipping down local roads at 65mph in order to take a gander at the technology that has the potential to make or break a 3d chipset.

Thresh:
Ugh, why'd it have to be Fremont? Aside from being an hour away, it's got to be one of the most sleepy, boring places on Earth….hey, that's just like a certain Hardware Editor I know. Case closed.

    This thing exists! Honest! Next!
