Battlefield 2142

Battlefield 2 – Direct3D

Notes

Performance was significantly down for the GeForce 8800 GTX under Windows Vista. Approximately 22% at 1280x1024 under 32-bit Vista, and 21% when comparing the 64-bit operating systems. We noted similar margins at higher resolutions.

The other GeForce cards don’t seem to be affected as severely, with the 7900 GTX running anywhere from 4-9% slower and the 7900 GS 12% slower at 1280x1024 and 9% at 1600x1200. The 7600 GS fares better than the other cards, but looking at how low the frame rates are, we’re obviously running at graphics settings that are too high for the card (we left the graphics settings at the highest level for all four cards).
