Ballistics Report
Performance:
Unlike a standard foam pad, this 3M will get the most out of your mouse. You'll get smooth and predictable tracking, perhaps even better than what a regular 3M pad might give you. Is it better than an Everglide? Like we said, that's a religious argument - the only way to know is to try them both and decide for yourself. For people who switched to Everglide primarily because of the slipping and "bubbling" problems, you will want to check out the Wingman pad - you might just switch back.
Innovation:
It's about time that someone made a non-slip 3M. Now I wonder if someone can figure out how to make an indestructable 3M…
Installation and Setup:
It's a mouse pad. If you don't know how to install this thing, then you need serious help that not even Firingsquad can provide. =)
Price:
We're informed by Logitech's Chris Pate that these Wingman Gaming Mouse Pads will cost about $15. That's a pretty penny to pay for a mouse pad, and sure to make almost anyone blink. There are a lot of people who would think twice before paying that much for a 3M, particularly when a washable Everglide can be had for just a few bucks more.
Some of you are probably shaking your heads at this point, wondering why anyone would spend so much on a mouse pad. Hey, the desktop's good enough, right? The bottom line is whether or not it's worth it to you to have a good, consistent mousing surface. As one of the ultra competitive Firingsquad staff, I hate to lose. It doesn't matter if it's Dennis administering a Q3 spanking; losing sucks. What I hate even more than losing when it's expected, is losing to an inferior player because of subpar equipment. Spending 15-20 dollars to get a good mousing surface is a no brainer.
