FiringSquad Summary:

ASUS tops the V9980 Ultra off with other features as well. For the gaming crowd, ASUS offers its GameFace technology – finally your opponent has a face and voice! With online gaming growing by the day, and broadband internet connections taking off as well, ASUS’ timing is excellent. Keep in mind that this is proprietary technology however, both of you will need ASUS graphics cards that support GameFace, limiting its overall audience. ASUS also offers Video Security II (perfect for those paranoid types who are always looking over their shoulder) and don’t forget the video input connectivity (which is coupled with ASUS Digital VCR II) the V9980 Ultra offers.

When taken as a whole, this adds up to a solid GeForce FX 5950 Ultra offering. Unfortunately it’s currently selling online for a little more than most other GeForce FX 5950 Ultra boards. It remains unclear if this will sort itself out as availability increases, right now there aren’t many V9980 Ultra cards out there (at least in comparison to some of the other manufacturers).
