Rambus Is a revolutionary memory technology that is used to power high end PC's that have a need for high bandwidth. Rambus utilizes a new architecture to accomplish the higher bandwidth. The improvements in performance can be as much as 3-10 times the standard SDRAM architecture. RIMM modules are 184 pins and as such are not able to be placed in machines that are not designed with Rambus in mind. When Rambus was first introduced speeds included 600, 700 or 800MHz. K-Byte only offers the 800MHz today. They come in ECC and NON-ECC versions. If your machine requires Rambus you will need to upgrade in pairs or have a spacer (C-RIMM) to fill the slot, as Rambus needs all slots to be filled in order to function properly.
