I'll be listing some Northwestern US local bands in here as well, but anyone with any access to myspace music should be able to find them.

Good ol black metal:
Fall of the Bastards
Anorexia Nervosa
Mayhem
Ludicra
Order of the Vulture
Wolves in the Throne Room

Face stompin' death metal:
Bolt thrower
Carcass
Finntroll (note: these guys are VERY finnish and VERY nerdy - get your stien of mead ready)
Asmegin
Splatterhouse
Impaled

Mind blowin' genre mixing metal:
Earth (badass ambience)
Bongzilla (wether you smoke or not, these guys know how to lay down a groove)
Brainoil
Feral
The Lord Wierd Slough Feg (yes, it's fucking space metal)
Hammers of Misfortune (just classic maiden style metal, but still absolutely excellent)
