Today is a double feature [First quiz of today is in link below], so
2 questions because I missed one the other day. This is a 50 sec song
clip taken middle of a game track, but what game is it? 10 points for
a correct answer and bonus points will be given for any extra information.

EDIT: Sounds a bit like the music from Thunderforce IV, but that's just the style I think. I'll pass.

Correct, what was it that gave it away, the birds? the plane?

EDIT: The birds on the picture are Montagu's Harrier, they are similar to Falcons and Hawks.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd be guessing a 16bit console.

I will add another sound clip tomorrow as an hint if no one gets it by then. But, you are right about it being a console game. [Sound quality is kind of a give away]

Edit: Ok, Hint: It's an 80's game, but you shouldn't be surprised to see some version of it pop up now and then.
