So here is my contribution to the contest. I have absolutely zero experience in the field of video creation. More importantly I hadn't a clue on how to use the tools I had to create this video in the first place. So after weeks of learning and watching examples and tutorials on YouTube I managed to crank (hehe) something out.

Initially I was going to create a rather hilarious live action video (as a serious departure from the other entries). However, I don't own a video camera (!!).

The biggest challenge when creating this video was containing everything within one minute. I had so many great ideas, jokes and a more in-depth storyline that I had to cut out. In fact, just with the bare-bones I could barely keep it inside the length limit without cutting away almost everything that wasn't absolutely necessary.

Another challenge was how creating a proper Garry's Mod video requires at least one other person for animating, placing and filming. I didn't have one other person so I had to rely on very basic animation (and one animation at a time).

However, I had a great deal of fun and gained a ton of experience. Most importantly, at least I gave myself a smidgen of a chance at winning. It's one hell of a prize and it would be silly to not at least take a potshot at it.

Tools Used
• Garry's Mod 10
• Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e (Trial)
• FRAPS 3.2.3
• Audacity 1.3.12 Beta

Certainly made me laugh but, whether it's a good submission to the contest from a judge's point of view?

....mmmmh, debatable!

Still, funny stuff man!

Are you saying that in the context of the theme of the contest or are you referring to the overall quality? The latter I can probably nod my head to but for the former I believe my video fits perfectly fine.

"How do you crank that s#!t up" is, besides being absolutely stupid, very vague. This allows (or should've allowed) for a large variety of entries involving anything NVIDIA GeForce related. Basically, "What do you use NVIDIA's cards for?" I throw them at cops to get away. ;)

But we'll see. Thanks!

For those of you who are curious as to the content I had planned that I had to cut out:

This video was intended to be one in a series of 1950s PSA-style videos that detailed how not to use a GeForce video card. The last video of the bunch was to show the correct way. Due to time constraints and my lack of skill I could only make the one video and the public service announcement style simply couldn't fit into 1 minute.

I had two other scripts for two more videos that showed other misuses of the GeForce video card including using it as currency and gardening. Maybe I'll do them for fun later on.

I initially had Juno Reactor's Mona Lisa Overdrive as the soundtrack (the track in the freeway chase scene in the Matrix: Reloaded) but it seemed to take away from the simplicity and accidental charm of the video. As did most other soundtracks.

Got the soundtrack... great stuff. I always listen to soundtracks and orchestral music when I'm doing 'creative' work.
Personal favorite is Hans Zimmer's Pirates of the Caribbean, which happened to be what I was listening to when I created my vid :)
