Crank THIS sH!t up! - 3DforREAL [Entry]

Crank THIS s#!t up! - 3DforREAL

This has been a fun challenge and thanks to nVIDIA, Maingear, and of course FiringSquad, well worth the time.

NOTE: Local upload finally worked at 720p, however for better quality version I'd still like to refer everybody to the YouTube link below. Thanks.

YouTubeHD version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnhv5TeN9dw

Origin:
As I started working on this, I came to realize why I would want to win this contest. True 3D gaming. So I started experimenting and improvising, changing my initial video more and more, till one morning I woke up with an idea that would help me solve one big issue. How do I make it appear that there are 3screens, when I don't have them myself. With some trickery I got it worked out and the result is what you see. Crysis on 3screens at Very High settings, but most notably without actually having 3 screens, nor a system that could run this game on 3 screens at those settings. I'm kinda proud of it, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

Some facts:
• All game-play footage by yours truly was recorded with Fraps.
• The total file-size for all resources collected during the creation of this project is in excess of 800gb
• Only 5% of all resources made it into the clip.
• The entire process of creating, improvising and preparing this project took me well over a 100hrs (including game-play capture) and was a steep learning curve.
• All FX were created using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.

The Music:
• The original track is by "Disturbed' and is called "Down with the sickness", from the album "The Sickness"
• The video's version was remixed by myself, using Adobe Soundbooth, as I didn't have anything else available.

Biggest challenge:
• Crysis on 3-screen illusion.
• One of the main features of this video is 3D in all it's glory and only the way nVIDIA can provide it. For this I actually had to defy the laws of computing and create the illusion of playing Crysis in all it's glory on a 3-screen setup, without actually having them. Nor would my system be able to run it like that.
(I would have loved to do this for other games as well, but not every game can be easily tricked into thinking there are 3 screens.)

Games:
I would have listed all games used in this short film, but I believe that any true gamer, like myself, does not require one. They should be well known to all that love gaming.

Final note:
I'd like to thank everybody for watching, rating and commenting on my video, as well as the sponsors: nVIDIA, Maingear and the host FiringSquad. It's been some experience and I've enjoyed every minute of it!

Good luck to all contestants and let's CRANK THAT SHIT UP!

Though the FX were good, it was just another game montage.

All flash and no fury.

I'm sure that some may want to see more creativity or better said variety within the contest and I agree. Perhaps something different would have been more fun to watch, but it wasn't within reach for me to do, unfortunately.
I would have loved to do another different type of entry, but time has run out for that I believe, unless I wake up tomorrow and figure out how to realize my vision in a day or so :D

I do believe that people seem overlook the concept or the message embedded in the special FX. It's not about the games or game-play itself and though related, it's first and foremost about 3Dvision and 3Dsurround gaming.
How 'I would use GeForce to crank that s#!t up'

Nonetheless, I can respect other people's oppinion and thank you for the honest feedback. All I can do is get better from here.

After all... it's my first ever contest entry and special-fx project.

Almost forgot, I've watched most rated videos and some of them...let's say the image quality wasn't so good. I really do think you have a shot at number 1.

Go, go, go! Hope you'll win. As for user(s) who rated 1, well, who cares?

Thanks DarKSeeD.

As for the rating, I'm sure anybody with a sense of honor cares, but there's nothing you can do. I'm not gonna let it bother me too much. No point in getting wound up about it and I'm more excited about the great feedback from everybody. :)

Whatever sounds friendlier, I guess? I’m actually not such a bad-ass. :P

I’ve watched a lot of other clips in this contest. It’s all about creativity and effort, and you’ve put obviously a lot of time and effort in it, creating such a clip.

I’m not saying that the other contestants didn’t put in some effort in their clips, they obviously did, but these clips lag the art of creativity in my opinion.

Yours was the best I’ve seen so far, thus far worth mentioning it.

Good luck with the contest M8. :)

Awesome clip you’ve put together there M8! This is some serious art work. It looks to me that you have some experience in that department.

I really liked it! Hope to see some more soon. ;)

Well thanks Grim, or is it Reaper? :D

I've actually already got a new challenge for myself in the planning. Let's hope it will work out. Love to keep doing stuff like this.
