OK, so not everyone has an unlimited gaming budget. After all, too much time playing + not enough time working = limited budget. Anyone who's ever built a system knows that "for just a few more dollars" you could buy a cooler/better/faster/sexier .

Don't get me wrong... if you CAN spend the dough then go crazy on your machine. This blog, however, is for those of us that can't/won't spend $6k on a gaming machine right now.

Well, not that much... wish I had free time to do it. Thing is, I want it to be an OK experience. I like hanging out here at the world's greatest gaming site afterall... got to know what the heck I'm talking about.

So, here's what I ended up doing after my last post. I picked up an XFX 8800gt Alpha Dog at the local Fry's and added it to a DS3L, Coolermaster 500W, 2 gigs Corsair XMS2 and Intel E6750. I really needed these for "business purposes" after all.

So the graphics look AWESOME on my 22in Samsung, but the card is kind of noisy. I fired a question to the XFX support guys asking if I needed new firmware or something and they're sending out a replacement cooler for the card! Didn't even have time to get pissed off before they had my problem fixed (assuming the thing actually is in the mail like they said)!

To answer your original question, I've been messing around with the World in Conflict demo late, late at night after the kids and real-world obligations are done... seems like a really cool game that I'll have to buy.
