Howdy folks and welcome to the latest FiringSquad Matrix Cluster for our Lord of the Rings Online Beta contest. Yes, the fantasy MMORPG from developer Turbine and publisher Midway is set for launch in late April but the game is currently in beta testing and the first part of our contest will give 100 FiringSquad readers a way to check out the beta test first hand. Here is how it will work. At 9 am PST on Monday, Feb. 18, we will release the password to join the Lord of the Rings Online Beta Contest Cluster. The first 100 registered FiringSquad readers to join the cluster will be chosen to get keys to join the beta test from Turbine.
Normally that would be pretty cool but it gets better. We are also running a second portion of the contest for all of the beta testers of Lord of the Rings Online (regardless if they received their beta keys from FiringSquad). We want all of you to join our cluster and upload your best screenshots and videos from the beta test and post them in your mediablogs. This part of the contest will run from Feb. 18 until midnight PST on Monday, March 11. During that time FiringSquad readers will rank the best screenshots and videos that have been uploaded. The readers who have the highest ranked screenshot and the highest ranked video will each receive a great PC gaming video card. (Gameplay videos have to be 10 seconds or less).
So there you have it; a chance to not only check out one of the most anticipated PC games of 2007 but a way to also win some great PC hardware as well. Thanks to Turbine for their participation in this contest. Good luck.

Update: We will be sending the email addresses of everyone who joined the cluster to Turbine today, even though we haven't yet reached 100 people yet. Make sure your email address that you used to register for FiringSquad and to enter the cluster is correct.
