| In reality ratings systems don't "help parents" they help out the publisher. It makes them look adult friendly and gives them a legal backing to put out what ever they want. For example before movies had ratings they had a guide for what was ok. When they moved to a rating system they started to allow nudity and in the 70's topless women where everywhere in films.
For music before Liberman went after dirty 15 (which where not really that bad) music was pretty clean. They put a warning on the music and all the sudden it can be a string of swear words.
For video games before we had a rating system Nintendo wouldn't show blood. Then they put in a rating system and blood starts to show up in everything. It has gotten to the point where nudity is starting to show up in games.
Not that I am complaining. I just thought I would point out how before ratings entertainment was cleaner. In fact dew to public intrest in "Snakes on a Plane" they have gone back and did re-takes to make it R instead of PG-13. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Kind of odd that all I have heard from people who where at the show was how impressed they where with the Wii. Sony seemed to have blown it at E3 and Microsoft didn't really do much to much but it is ok because there console is out. Nintendo though blew the socks off a lot of people at the show and gained a lot of press support for the console. Coming out of the show Nintendo looks really good right now which should help them a lot. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So when is Office PS3 coming out Sony? Really Sony is so full of shit that I am starting to really hate them as a company. There is no chance of the PS3 replacing the computer or even being anything like a computer. Sure it might be able to surf the net but would end up having limited ability probably when it comes to flash, java or Active X controls. Also I don't see people running office software and writing papers on it and if they did how would they print them out?
I think that Sony is just using features at this point out of fear of having the weakest system in the next generation. It is like they know the games are going to be about on par with the Xbox 360 and so they are just spewing off a ton of half assed features and how great they are going to be. Next thing you know they are going to say how VOIP will make it so the PS3 will replace the phone and even how you can do VOIP on the PSP replacing the need for a cell! (really I am not joking give them 2 months and they will annouce it) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The fanboys of the PS3 should look at Sony as a whole. A failed online music download system, putting a rootkit copy protection in music CD's and basicly loosing the hardware market for audio and video to other companies. Sony isn't a strong company and needs the PS3 and Blu-Ray to stay in the market. Flag this | Edit this post |

| This is kind of intresting. Nintendo is putting a focus on causual games with a whole brand name thing and Microsoft has Live Arcade putting a focus on casual games. Where is Sony? You have to figure Nintendo and Microsoft must see casual games becoming huge.
From what I have seen and heard people are enjoying these casual games more than some of the big bugget titles and it could bring in $10 billion a year by 2010. So really this is a market that can't be left out of a stratagy in the next generation. It could even spell which system wins and which one looses as these games are cheap to produce, have high replay value and don't require a lot of power to run. It could be that an addictive game like Wii Nintendogs could win the console war. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Like Super Allah powers would be better than what we see in games like Bionic Comando?
Also the winning screen can be you with 72 vergins. Got to love that. "Be a good girl honey and when you grow up and die you will go to heaven and become the sex slave to a suicide bomber!" Flag this | Edit this post |

| Really Sony costing less is bullshit. I would rather save money today and not get the shit I don't want than spend more and get what Sony is offering. If you look at Sony and the marketing deal they made with EA on the PSP you would probably become pretty afraid of Sony Online. Basicly imagine "It's free if you want to provide us with an email address so we can spam you".
Secound off look at developers and try to imagine you are investing 10 million dollars in a game. Do you think a publisher is going to fund an exclusive game? Hell no forget it. Really I see a ton of retards going around saying the PS3 will be great because the PS2 has such and such game when really there is no binding deal to keep it on that system. Next generation almost all games will get ports to every other console so they can cover the loss of making the game. So if I spend $400 on an Xbox 360 I get all the features of the PS3.
Though in turn it could also be that the Wii will be what developers aim to make games for since you could make a 5 million game that needs to sell half as many copies and is just as fun. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I think that exclusive games will decrease because the cost is increasing to make the games. So basicly the only reason to buy a PS3 will be the blu-ray since publishers care about making money. That is unless Sony is going to start offering $5 million or more to get an exclusive title. In fact I wouldn't be suprised if Final Fantasy games don't start coming out for Xbox since Square will need the money to keep up with the CGI they use. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think that Sony blew the show. Nothing new nothing nothing that great at the show other than a annoucing that it will cost a ton of money. Also remember last year when they showed the opening for Final Fantasy and said the PS3 could do it real time? Doesn't look like that is the case.
The real thing that blew it for Sony is the lack of games for the system. I don't see myself talking about any game coming out for the PS3 that will make me want to buy it. Considering how much the PS3 costs to make they can't really go "Oh we will make it back with the games" since there isn't a PS3 game people are dying to have. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Maybe they should compaire it to the next gen Xbox 360 titles since that is what it will be facing off against when it is released. You can get a PS3 with 18 games or the Xbox 360 with 60 games and some secound generation titles at launch of the PS3. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I wouldn't be suprised if it was true since Sony doesn't make a cut off of the sales. I would figure that they would want a cut of the profits or that they would give a lower supply of top games to the store so it would force them to stop selling the used copies. I personally wouldn't be suprised if they did something to cause stores to stop selling used games. Flag this | Edit this post |
