Gaming performance in 2k/XP was worse than in 98SE at one point. Vista itself is fine - when the drivers catch up I'll even think about upgrading to it.
I think subscribers get one respec for all characters with every major patch. One respec is also handed out to every character of a given class when that class is drastically revised in a patch. The game has much more in common with Diablo II than an MMO and a lot of the replayability comes in building different characters.
(Single-player isn't very compelling and you can't use SP characters in multi or trade items between them. Even if you're just planning to start off solo it's best to make MP characters.)
» Noble Cause WoW plays fine on hand-me-downs, but anything released in the last couple of years demands a little more oomph. Help me stop playing WoW! ;)
