| Naw... the stuff they "stole" from JDEC goes ontop of the underlying technology they had already patented, which everyone whould have needed to use regardless.
The fact that the other memory manufacturers tried to bury them is bad for America and capitalisim in general. They were in effect trying to wrestle away establised US patents and control the entire industry through a group effort of dumping. They got caught and immedidately admitted it and paid 100s of millions in fines.
They're so innocent aren't they? It's all big evil Rambus' fault. Heh, well they got what they want, Rambus barely makes any ram anymore. What they didn't expect is that they will be paying Rambus royalites forever and the industry will exist in a perpetual state of letigation for awhile yet. :)
Way to go Samsung and friends! Flag this | Edit this post |

| Except that the current eees are overpriced crap. This is more of the "cashing in on a fad" is now over and prices must reflect the real value.
I mean, there's really not a lot they can take away from an EEE to make it do less. :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yes, telephony technology has voice response of grammars in the order of miliiseconds and can word spot based on phonetics. Since everything is packet based it can be buffered realtime and nobody would be the wiser.
Most bad recognition is caused by going from G711 analog to digital... an all digital recognition is highly accurate, and can be sampled multiple times by the recongition engine to average the rec result and make a decision. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Dear Creative director... please change your title to Uncreative Director.
Just compare PC games to console games. Console games are shallow, just like your PC games!
Good PC games have no problem turning a good profit regardless of piracy.

| *sigh* When developers need to really learn how to use parallel processing. Do you think they are going to learn the Intel way, or the Nvidia way?
The Intel way... it will be necessary for apps, and hey look, it does games too... Flag this | Edit this post |

| I bought Spore. I love it.
However, DRM is always bad... inevitably I am going to run out of reinstalls because of the number of times I reinstall my OS or change hardware. It doesn't effect me though, because I'l just use a "gamefix". :)
Also, 1 account? If only 1 copy can run simultaneously, WTF is the problem? Everything that EA just said in regards to content is a total load of bull crap. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Cheaper is cheaper...
Parents will be all over this for Christmas unless the Wii comes down. (I didn't get you a Wii jr., but at Best Buy the sales guy showed me a side by side comparison, and graphics looked way better on Xbox!)
People who own a different console might consider picking one up as a secondary platform.
If you can meet demand, $199 and less will drive sales this time of year. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hot damn, this looks like the silver bullet to solving all of our web problems.
Finally a really well designed browser architecture, and open source too.
The only thing I fear is people will try it in the early stages and get turned off to it because it's not completely ready. :( Flag this | Edit this post |
