| An AI for an RTS could easily be created that would beat anyone in the world. The biggest limit of a human player in an RTS is how much they can micromanage, and a computer wouldn't have this limitation.
It would always build up it's town/base perfectly optimal. It could micromanage numerous scouts all over the map so it would always know where you're moving your forces. Not to mention all the micromanaging it could do in a battle. It could fight 2 battles at the same time and still manage it's economy at the same time.
RTS games are 90% micromanaging, and only when the players are roughly equal at micromanaging does strategy play much of a factor. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, I started a server and tried this. When you turn on sv_showhitboxes, they do indead show the hitboxes a couple feet ahead of the model, but when you shoot them, you don't hit.
When you shoot the model, you do hit. In fact, I would say the hitboxes are pretty much dead on now. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Because it is broken. How is it a good thing that some guns are so overpriced there's absolutely no point in buying them? (Mac10, para, all pistols except deagle, nightvision, aug/sig).

| Mac 10 needs to be at least as cheap as a tmp. Right now the mac 10 is barely cheaper than an mp5, and mac10 bullets are way more expensive than mp5 bullets, so there's basically no point in buying it.

| Yes, HD-DVDs are 1080p. Current ones actually have better video quality than blue ray becaues they're using a better codec, while blu ray is still using the ancient mpeg2 codec which is the same codec used in regular dvds.
In the future blu ray will probably start using better codecs though, and the two formats will look exactly the same. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sony is thinking long term with the ps3. Sure it's expensive now, but in 2-3 years, the ps3 could quite possibly cost them less to produce than it will cost MS to produce an xbox 360.
The reason is sony produces all the hardware in-house. As better, cheaper hardware technologies come out, Sony can redesign the PS3 and combine the different parts, making it cheaper. Plus in 3 years the cost of the blu ray drive won't be much more than a dvd drive.
MS is pretty much stuck leaving the xbox and xbox 360 as they are, and has contracts with the hardware suppliers so the price of the components won't drop much. They are paying a rediculous amount of money for original xbox components like a p3 733. Flag this | Edit this post |
