| I think it's untrue. Sure, maybe *eventually* they will make a Starcraft or Diablo MMORPG. But imho, releasing one within 2 years would be killing there own market. You'd only accomplish WoW users cancelling their accounts and trying it. And maybe some other gamers, but that's about it.
Maybe in 5 years or so we'll have a World of Diablo. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well though I do feel somewhat the same way, I am a very 'casual' gamer in that I don't rush through levels, far from it. Some people finished Sin Episode 1 in 3 hours, I did it in 6 or so. So it will probably (hopefully) take me 5 hours minimum to finish HL2 episode 1.
Then you've got the commentary mode, so I'll porbably turn it off the first time, then replay it turned on, good for another 5 hours of gameplay. That's 10 hours total. Plus maybe a replay before HL2 Episode 2 is released. Not bad that way. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | If you realize that AMD was planning to combine dual-cores to single core so that your pc will see the dual-core as a single core (I'm sure the news article can still be found somewhere), combined with that technique, this could really be interesting. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well everyone can complain as much as you want, but I don't see the point.
Let's face it, HL2 cost over $30.0000.000 to create. And they've made one of the best shooters available. So sure, they want increased financial security and thus decide to release shorter episodes. Can you blame them? They're a company, they want to make money, and they SHOULD make money.
3 Episodes worth 4-6 hours of gaming. That's 12-18 hours for a total of $59.95 or something. $55 if you pre-order. That's not an unfair price and certainly not much more than a 'normal' game for the same amount of game-time. Moreover, you don't have to wait as long.
So yes, they can have my money for these episodes (unless they truly suck but I doubt it) and if that means they can afford to develop another truly next-generation game for another 5+ years (Half-life 3 or Team Fortress 2 please!) they can GLADLY have it. I'd much rather give my money to a great company like Valve than paying $50 for some mediocre shooter.
If you don't like it, don't buy it and don't complain. My guess is that most the people that complain will still give in and buy it anyway if the game gets great reviews. If they have 8 million Steam accounts, I hope at least 2 million (25%) will buy Episode 1 so they cash in a good $40.000.000 :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Mythic Entertainment eh? Expect an expansion every 6 months, totally neglecting the original world, which adds stupid artifacts so gamers can spend 30 hours obtaining them, another 80 hours of mindless farming for some crappy scroll in order to activate the artifact, and finally spending 300 hours to 'level' the artifact. Only to, after 3 years of complaining, offer an expansion-less server for the playerbase.
I think I'll pass on this one :P Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well I do feel a bit ripped off now :P Bought it for what, $19.95 with a 10% discount. And now you can get it even cheaper.
What is weird is that, if they want to promote their Steam even further, they should at least sell it for $2.00 cheaper on Steam than anywhere else. Oh well... Flag this | Edit this post |
