| Saying that you don't think it was out of context, and then reposting the quote again without context, is not a good argument strategy.
Blu-ray is Sony's format. They helped develop it and they will reap the royalties if it succeeds. They do not have the option to not support it. MS is not in such a position and they can treat an unknown future with the caution it deserves. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | This quote is being taken out of context. They're not predicting the fall of HD-DVD, they're only admitting that they cannot predict the future. Maybe hd-dvd will fail, maybe it won't. The drive is available for those who want to take the chance. Their downloadable movie content is available for those who don't. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I doubt the petition is necessary. They know a bigger harddrive is needed. Its just a matter of how big, how much money, and when to roll it out. They sell their small 20gb hd for $100 now, so I'm anxious to see what they'll charge for a big one. Hopefully they lower their prices. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | They're saying that the average 360 owner has many games, which indicates a hardcore gamer. It could also indicate that theres just many good games for the 360, but in this case I think they have a point. There should be a significant number of people with just 1 or 2 games if the console really had casual gamer appeal. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | So? Consoles have operating systems too. They weren't really vulnerable before now because there was no real way to attack a hole in them. The best you could do was putting code in a memory card, crafted as a game save. Opening up the web however, allows you to create a web page with malicious content that anybody could inadvertently download. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Isn't sticking a web browser on a console a horrible idea? Online games and regulated marketplace content is great, but opening up the whole web seems like asking for trouble. Even Firefox running on Linux needs to be patched to keep the bad men out. It seems like there's a lot of negative feelings in the tech savvy community toward the PS3. This just seems like trouble. | | HD-DVD isn't nearly as important to Microsoft as blue-ray is to Sony. Its not really important for hd-dvd to succeed, only for blue-ray not to. Thats where the downloadable hd movies come into play. HD movies with no $200 player? Yes please. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "Now imagine the possibilities with an advanced liquid cooling system, some high end memory, a top shelf motherboard, and a bit of overclocking."
Not really that hard to imagine. Its not like people will buy these to plug into their $500 PCs. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | He's doing what he can. Sony's only real play is to market the ps3 as far far superior to the other two. In reality, its pretty damn close to a 360, + $200. If they can get the public to believe its far better, they'll sell. Acting like they're a whole level beyond Microsoft and Nintento is just part of the plan. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Its an advertisement, but also a valid point. The 360 certainly had its launch and manufacturing troubles, and many said that their global launch was a bad idea. But they had the luxury of doing it without any next-gen competition and now those problems are a year behind them. They're in a very decent position right now. Flag this | Edit this post |
