» Great with Windows Media Center or Beyond TV What a brief and disappointing article. Not what I have come to expect from Firingsquad.
I own the TV Wonder 650 and while the hardware is great, the software that comes with it is terrible. In addition to frequently crashing, the electronic program guide does not work in my area. The FM tuner scan does not find the correct radio stations and recording ABC stations results in audio that is out of sync with the video.
Luckily, the TV Wonder 650 works great with Beyond TV, and (my current setup) Media Center in Vista Premium. Recording, pausing live TV, EPG and watching HDTV for hours on end works flawlessly. Unfortunately the FM tuner is not yet supported, and no word on whether ATI's Remote Wonder will ever be supported in Vista. (currently it does not work)
My recommendations? Ditch the ATI software and use Media Center with Vista. This is an inexpensive solution if you want to watch, record and burn broadcast HDTV - though the value is questionable with OCUR cablecard tuners around the corner.
