| What about the athlon64? and the first X2 series? AMD kicked ass for a while there. So did ATI with the 98XX series.
K6 was the come back, then the Athlon really started to catch up. AMD as a business platform is known to be awesome now, even up to the scale of super computers. Look at Cray and what they have done.

This is very sad that this happens. It says something about us as people and how technology and artificial things control our lives. 20 years ago no child would do this, now stuff along these lines happens a lot.
Look at kids when you take WoW away from them, completely spaz and go crazy. If I had a child and he/she went psycho over a game, I think I would have to completely cut them off.
