| | Yeah thats the power source, but thats not whats being manipulated to allow ships to travel ftl. This theory talks about manipulating dark energy (using another energy source, e.g. antimatter) to allow the warping of space. The analogy to Startrek is the creation of a subspace bubble which if I remember the tech manual correctly, works in an almost identical way. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I'm not too sure about that. If anything CPU power is increasing at a greater pace now than at almost any time in the past. A top end 6 core westmere will have multiple times the raw power of a top end C2D from 2 years ago. Not all apps will show it, but its certainly there. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | At the same time, larger desktop monitors are becoming far more common. Why wants to switch to a 15" or at best, 17" screen when they are used to 22" and 24". Even for day to day tasks like surfing the net and work, the difference is night and day. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I have no problem eating animals either, its the only way we can get meat which we are naturally entitled too.
However, if an alternative way to get meat can befound, then as long as its indistinguishable from that which comes of a live animal then its a truly great thing to no longer have to kill those animals for food.
Effictively the entire human race could go vegi without having to give up meat!
And thats to say nothing of the practical applications of being able to grow fresh meat anywhere without the need to keep live stock. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So removing the need to kill animals to obtain meat is now a bad thing?
WTF is wrong with you people? Thinking its ok to kill animals WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO is only one step away from thinking its ok to kill humans.
Frankly, i'm disturbed by the lack of value most of you place on life. You may feel that its ok to kill animals for fun, money or some irrational fear of science but lets hope you never come across an armed human who shares the same mindset with slightely stronger conviction. | Assasins Creed actually has MAJOR graphical upgrades in the PC version so I think its system specs can be justified.
Another excellent example of a console to PC port sound like it will be Mass Effect.
LA have basically just seriously screwed their once very loyal PC fanbase. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | So you would be happier if the game simply shipped with no high or very high settings at all? Then you could run it at maximum no problem. The fact that the game gives you the option to improve the graphics on future hardware makes you want to pass it up? Strange. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yep were you first find the revolver in the demo. The woman casts a shadow on the wall along with her pram/stroller. The edges are very jagged with DX9 (and on the 360) while DX10 makes them nice and smooth. Its a pretty big difference. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hey Brandon, you should check out the shadow of the women and her pram on the wall from the first level (the one in the demo).
The differences between DX9 and DX10 are very obvious there. I suspect its only the dynamic shadows that DX10 effects. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Great, just what we need! Yet another controller standard onthe PC! I have no problem with Alienware wanting to make their own range of controllers but for gods sake at least stick with the format that MS are trying to make common on the platform. The 360 pad is a superb layout and its being natively supported by all games for windows games. Why on Earth would Alienware want to harm an effort that has the potential for huge benefit on the platform were they make their money from!! Flag this | Edit this post |
