| I agree completely on the resolution it is 1650x1080. I can't fix anything because the article is locked.
DirectX 10 is what is installed(Dxdiag), however utilizing it is another story.
Its too bad you didn't say anything BEFORE the darn thing was over :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| As close as it is, it would be very presumptuous for me to try to predict. The contestants are significantly closer this round than Round 2. I also have no idea how much the challenge round has influenced this round. In the earlier rounds the current editors also gave an impression of what they thought of the articles, where as this round they simply gave an overview. I would possibly hazard a guess if I had their impressions. As it is, I reserve my prediction for myself.
After this thing is over you're more than welcome to solicit a copy of my spreadsheet.
I hope I manage to get a spot, I'd love to have the flexibility to look for new work/quit my job (see my challenge round article) and find something else. I feel I can put together a phenomenal submission on the build for next round. In the end its up to them. Let the chips fall where they may. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Stats Update. There have been 340 ratings this round so far (its 10:30pm pacific). As of yesterday at 12am 229 ratings had been entered. 111 ratings in less than 24 hours.
Compare this to all the articles in the challenge round combined to net 132 ratings during the entire challenge round. Thats an average of ~6 ratings per article. The submissions started showing up on the first day the cluster was open.
The article comments from 4/7 - 4/9 have grown by 23.
The average rating has gone up from 82% to 84%. The average number of ratings has gone from 18. 1, to 34.
8.6% separates the majority of the group. 18.6% separates the entire group.
I'll let the rest of you decode the data and develop your own conclusions. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I printed page 2, signed it, scanned it and saved it. I opened page one in photoshop and edited it with the text tool and saved it. Then I sent them both back as attachments. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I don't have 12 or so folks. I have... uh.. 120! Yeah they're all signing up right now, you might as well just acquiesce right now.
To be honest I'd like to crop the nonsensical anonymous post out of my article comments.
I'd also like to see my submission up on the front page. Anyone else unable to see their own article on the front page? I always see two articles by Buc, one from last round and one from this round. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Thats awesome Buc. I just did a search for AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core, I'm on page 6.
Interestingly enough when I searched for 8800GTX, you weren't on my first page, but on page 5. Never the less. You win. I'm going to go look for another job... Flag this | Edit this post |

| I didn't mean Dave :)
Although Dave does have a most impressive fan following.
I'm a big enough geek that I've been tracking the trending of the voting just to see how the waves of votes/comments/ratings go. (That and I woke up and couldn't move a couple days ago the doc's won't let me work. They have me on pain meds, and muscle relaxers.)
Interestingly enough theres a little bit of voting, but not a heck of a lot of discussion. I'd be interested to see the traffic for each of the mblogs. Flag this | Edit this post |

| You're right, according to the spread sheet, Daug and Buc are looking pretty good. The intangibles are still there however, the opinions of the editors, and the 'fan clubs' that we bring to the table might have a big impact.
I'm personally curious to see what impact the challenge round will have on the final result. I hope I didn't do an extra review for nothing! Who am I kidding I had fun doing that too.
In round 2 I decided it would be okay if I lost, I had tried my best, and I steeled myself for that possibility. This round, it's so close, its going to hurt in the end for most of us. I wish all of you the best of luck because I know how much we've all poured into this. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Wow we've got alot in common Buc. Kids, the big box. Firingsquad... creeping me out. I suppose you're 6'6" and 265 lbs too?
You'll have to give me some advice on what to do after the big box sometime. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree with you. Only my 3 year old is waiting for easter! My younger two little ones don't mind the wait.
I'm trying to get an idea of my chances. I'm analyzing every little detail everyone wrote, the media they posted. I'm not impartial enough this round to even vote for the other articles.
Its a daunting task to put the message in a bottle toss it into the ocean, and hope the bottle arrives at its destination.
I'd rather put the message in a bottle in a box with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and newspaper then ship it insured next day air.
Hopefully FS ships me a box when all is said and done. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Doh, I thought I was only allowed to have 10 photos. From reading other articles that number was increased. If anyone has any trouble viewing the benchmark graphics, message me and I will send you full size images of the graphics.
I compressed them in the interest of getting all my media into the article. Sorry. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Wow, that would be fantastic to build. Better than all of my hardware to boot. I've always wanted to do a build with water cooling, so I'm calling dibs. :)
I'd like to thank everyone of the participants for making the competition worth winning, the editors for their feedback, FiringSquad for the inspiration, and Intel for their phenomenal hardware. I've had a ball participating. I have no idea if I'll be in the next round, but you've done a great job of making me work as hard as I can to try to get there. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I promise if I make it to the next round, I will hide as much cabling as is humanly possible.
I am a equal opportunity reviewer, I figured if I was going into the next round it would make sense to do AMD this round, and Intel next round. I tried to thinking ahead so my writing would be fresh for the final round.
Thanks for taking the time to critique my submission, I very much appreciate it. Flag this | Edit this post |
