| | I really like how you researched out applicable modifications, Chris Taylor has mentioned that one of the things he wanted most for this game was for it to be easily modified. FYI for Fig. 8. There is a Mod to move your UI now :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Actually you may be interested to learn that the anti-aliasing testing is one of the custom tests I did. The settings from 2-6 have nearly ZERO impact on the benchmarking. Having some anti-aliasing on makes the lower resolution tolerable :)
You're right, I could have tested on Windows XP. if I didn't have a quickly approaching deadline I think I would have. However I was a beta tester for Vista and it was already installed on my primary machine. I didn't want to waste valuble time reinstalling Windows XP on my testing rig. I was already slow getting my article up(I was first in the first round). It also appears that my topic while timely is VERY popular. I feel lucky to even get to use my second idea for an article.
I very much appreciate your comments. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Let the Overlap Begin! I apologize to all out there who started work on Supreme Commander (Especially Kessandra). I'm glad I didn't actually purchase an extra monitor. I nearly did! Kudo's to you DaugWok for getting it in there. I also apologize for the short length of the video I posted. I wanted to add alot more but the size of the video file and my ability to edit was a limiting factor. Flag this | Edit this post |

| To me the article feels like it needs focus. I cracked it open ... expecting something else. What I got wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting.
I was thinking some air, maybe some water, maybe some peltier, or perhaps liquid nitrogen cooling examples or something. I'll rate it 'temporarily' until you retool it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree with Dan it takes a bit to get there but in the end there truely is a message for Bethesda.
I enjoyed your pacing, and the general tone. Not bad, especially if you like reading blogs. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I'm feeling a little scattered trying to critique. As a blog, I think you're on the top notch. As a review of a OCZ 1 GB Roadster Thumbdrive, I'm feeling down a few notches. I really like that you gave the product a score however the review itself was buried inside other thoughts. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Thanks for the 10. I was attempting ot catch attention with the title, sorry you don't like it :)
We differ in opinion on saturation. I think its valid to remake or at least update the roster on sports games every year. I've always had alot of fun with Madden, and found myself enjoying the yearly.. 'upgrade' sure these games don't hold their value, but people sure line up to buy them when they come out. | No offense taken! The whole idea of me writing this was to start some healthy debate. Thank you for your comments, and your opinion.
I have played Company of Heroes. Part of the reason I wrote this article was because Company of Heroes was a breath of fresh air; it is an outstanding play, definitely My game of the year. I've spent extensive amounts of time enjoying the games you mentioned (MOH, COD, et al.). I don't want to miss out on games like these simply because there are plenty of games out there.
I love that there is room for WWII games. I even mentioned in my article that creative developers and new hardware and consoles out there are giving more life to this genre. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree with you, I think you've made a valid commentary. I think there will always be games that hold a nostalgic feeling. I think it has alot to do with when you started gaming, and the amount of effort you had to put in to being gaming.
I think you've gotten your point across well. Here is my question, and something I would pose to the readers. What do we do about it?? What can we do about it? Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'll play devil's advocate here. Perhaps the readers are drawn to this article because it is a current game, and a member of the next generation.
That being said I think the article could have been a bit more complete with a 'rating scale' of some sort. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think it was well written however for me it wasn't current. I think I would have rated you higher if the article was based on a game that was released before November 23rd, 2004.
It doesn't seem that long does it? Flag this | Edit this post |

| I definately agree with you on the comma's. If I breathe when I'm typing it. I type a comma. I wrote without my editor (read:WIFE). She usually hacks about 50% of my comma's out.
The main idea was to establish a starting point for a discussion. I think we did that well.
Sorry I haven't replied. I just had a baby girl on the 8th! Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hey thanks, I really appreciate the critique. I think you're right about the 'fun' factor. I'm fairly green to allowing public display of my writing. I think it may have caused me to 'sanitize' a bit too much.
As for the list of games, I wanted to impress upon the reader the magnitude of games. When I drafted the article initially the list was sized to 9pt, and listed in three columns.
While my intent was for the reader to simply scan the list, it sure is nostalgic to read through and remember all the good times. Flag this | Edit this post |
