| Indeed.
Most of it is people blaming him for a war. Even though were talking about him taking charge to rid the world of people who attacked civilians in the worst terrorist dissaster in this countries history.
There has never been such a terrible/history changing attack on civilians in America. Not in any other war in history. This alone should give us the resolve to do anything to stop these terrorist. Many of us tend to forget. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree that a warrent should be necesarry in many cases, certainly not all.
The problem is that there's a lot of spin going on in the media about the issue of getting a warrent. I've heard interviews with Democratic senetors saying that the NSA can get a regular warrent up to 3 days after the initial take down, just so it doesn't interfere with anything. But then the NSA/Bush admin. says they use a secret court for this.
There is more to it and everyone should research it themselves, but I think that in the end, there's no 'real' problem with either way, but like a previous poster said that the Dems don't have control of anything really, so by discrediting the Bush administration, they want to win back the house in the Nov. elections. As sad as it sounds, I really think that's what it comes down to.
In any case, I'm tired of watching the news, it's terribly depressing. I'm going to switch to watching it only a few times a month, just to stay informed. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm still of the mind that they need to completly abandon the star trek franchise as it is now and get a fresh perspective. This would involve new writers and a completly different way of telling the stories. Right now Star Trek is flat out boring and goody goody. They need to quit trying to be everything to everyone (resulting in crap) and take a stand on how the show should be.
If it had half the drama that BSG has or even a quarter the drama 24 has it would still be a strong franchise today.
Sure they'll alienate some people - at least at first, but they'll gain much much more in the end. Flag this | Edit this post |

| This is a flat out attempt to influence Sony's price by this editor. She's Obviously someone who's probably making at least 100,000+ per year or more and can certainly afford it.
She's putting the future of her magazine and her career in jeopardy by doing this - knowing that playstation fanatics have the possibilty to be heavily influenced by her comments. This is just something you keep to yourself if you run a magazine dedicated to the playstation name. Unless of course she's trying to distance herself from the magazine and move to a different one... | » popular opinion? Apparently I'm in the minority. Although the pole is worded interestingly, If 90% of people really are feeling negative about the PS3 simply because of the price, I believe sony should drop the blue ray drive on the low PS3, make games only on DVD, sell the low Ps3 at the same price point as the 360.
Although I don't know how it will differentiate itself as higher quality the way that sony wants.
It boggles my mind how much negativity is on the net for the Ps3 simply because of price. Esp, when people are happy to pay as much for a video card or monitor.
I digress...Since the world has become a bunch of Wal-mart shoppers Sony won't pull this off. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | At which point I would chime in and say that since sony has it's own blu-ray factory, it makes sense that the discs are around the same price to produce as dvd. The only reason they cost more to us is because it's new tech, and they want to make as much out of it as possible before it starts dropping. Supply and demand. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hate to say this, but I think everyone outside of the hardcore will largely be ignoring the wii. I'm almost sure I will, and everyone I've talked to that knows about it but isn't a serious gamer(wii's target audience), they've all laughed at the idea.
I think Wii will have an uphill battle as much as sony. I believe that Nintendo has not only paid numerous websites off in some way, but that they've also strategically planted people in popular forums to drive interest. Why? Wii seems FAR too popular for no reason, and that's the goal of the company. Nintendo know's it's beaten, it's taking a different approach by saying 'look at our kool controller' and 'look, you can re-buy all your old games and play them on this system'. No thanks. When I was younger I was the biggest N fanboy, after the disapointment64, I learned the truth and their psychological tactics they play on kids. Notendo for wii Flag this | Edit this post |

| Janeway wasn't too bad, a bit of an over-actor though. Really Voyager was the best series next to TNG and the orginal. If you watch them back to back on a season disc voyager constantly has interesting stories, although they are tame star trek stories, they are certainly more interesting than DS9. DS9 = a snooze fest...
ST in general just needs fresh blood and a new perspective. There really is very little drama or mystery in the show. And as with most startrek, the shows themselves are dumbed down. They start out extreemly interesting, then by the end, your wondering why you watched it. Sort of like JAG but not nearly as bad.
Personally, I wouldn't mind Jack bauer taking the captains seat in a fast paced 31st century ST. Flag this | Edit this post |
