| | The Hobbit may have been a shorter book, but it crammed a lot of stuff into it. If you turned the whole thing into film there would be a huge number of big set pieces, and most of them you couldn't really cut out. I'm surprised he would need to fill a second film with a newly made up in between bit. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I've played medic more than any other character (30hrs ish), because no one else wants to, and it's frustrating watching a team pointlessly dying all the time. I have found healing soldiers more effective than heavies most of the time, unless taking out turrets. Making a pyro invulnerable is also good fun. :D Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I would say the scout is pretty effective at killing. The scout's main drawback is that it can't handle sentries well, so if you're trying to capture intel or a control point, you need someone to clear the way first. The double control point capture speed is also very useful, especially if you get the enemy team in a rout. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think you're alright at the moment of totality. Either side of totality though the light is still bright enough to damage your eyes, even with a small part of The Sun visible.
I saw a total eclipse in England a few years back. Obviously it was clouded over, as is typical of British weather. Still, it was a rather strange experience. The horizon in all directions was a yellowish sunset, and sky above was darker than twilight. It was like a 'movie' experience. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Why can't they make the age rating coded on the discs, then have a passworded parental lock on the console? Then the parents can decide what age rating is acceptable. Or maybe they already do but no one uses it. I don't own a console. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm guessing it means they capitulated to the whiners who think they know the engine better than Carmack.
Wow, autodownloads. I guess that means you can now actually join a server without having to know in advance what maps it runs.
Maybe ET:QW will resurrect the Quake name again. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I wonder if fan control will actually work properly in the next driver release. My non-clocked 8800GTX gets far too warm for my liking, yet the fans stay at 60%. It even artifacts in some games (GR:AW, LotRO). RivaTuner doesn't seem to work with the latest driver either. I even tried 100/100/100 and the fans still didn't spin up. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The current driver seems to break XVID playback. There's a big triangle in the top right corner of the picture that lags behind the rest. It covers about a third of the picture. This is on a 8800GTX with a Core2. I reverted to 97.92 and it's fine. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Despite Nintendo offering a free replacement for the strap, I'm not going to get mine swapped. I don't see the point. I cannot envisage any way I would swing the remote hard enough to snap the cord. I can see that I might break something by knocking stuff over, but not because I'm trying to pitch the WiiMote at 90mph at the TV.
Although a friend of mine actually told me her husband's best friend managed to smash their plasma TV while playing WiiSports. Oops! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Being a large lump of ice, most of the bulk of it would be below the water line, and I would imagine not affected a great deal. The thing wouldn't sink. Although a napalm attack would probably kill a lot of the personnel on the deck, and make the deck unsuitable for take off and landing. I guess it would only take some sort of small bulldozer to scrape out a new deck though. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I completed the game easily with a maxed out archer. Some things the archer is very good at. The cyclops for example is a two shot kill later on. Also the final boss was pretty easy as an archer too. The ice bow is very useful. I kept the daggers handy for close combat though. The orc leader I froze with the bow, then knocked him over and repeatedly stabbed him while standing on his back. So unfair. hehehe. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I enjoyed it. I completed it twice as different classes. The bugs were a little annoying, but not enough to put me off playing after a reload. A few times I got stuck in walls while climbing ropes, and a couple of times my backpack disappeared. There is also a funny bit where the spider boss attacks in entirely the wrong place if you stand on the ledge. Flag this | Edit this post |
