| Generals never even worked reliably on a LAN. There is something seriously wrong with that game.
Battle For Middle-earth also suffered from the same problems. I don't know about BfME2 suffered the same way, because I decided not to buy any more of their crap.
EA Games. Ruin everything. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | It would seem reasonable, but you are forgetting the VAT. Add VAT on that £149 and you get £175. Then they'll probably put another few quid on there cause they know they can get away with it, and I reckon £179 is the magic number. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Article is good, but I'm thinking I wont bother with BF2142. I play a bit of BF2, but I don't like the whole 'release a half finished game then charge for the stuff that should have been in there in the first place' routine. There's Dark Messiah coming around the same time, which I'll probable get instead. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | How did they form differently? Like Jupiter formed differently to Mars? Also, why is it a problem if we have a thousand objects in our solar system that are described as planets? As long as it's a scientific description of what they are or are not. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The new definition makes little sense in The Universe as a whole. It is very narrow minded to think that our solar system is the only way things happen. It seems like an unscientific classification. How big is a 'neighborhood'?
Pluto doesn't actually go anywhere near Neptune either. When it passes within Neptune's orbit Neptune is a long way away, so this whole 'neighborhood' thing is nonsense.
What happens if they find a Mars sized object in the outer edges of the Kuiper Belt?
Also 'dwarf planet' is a rather silly name. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Someone posting on Slashdot recommended the HardOCP 'review'. I had a look. Pretty much a waste of time. I completely agree with Jakub's sentiment (although maybe it was a little too confrontational). What is the point of pitting CPUs against each other when they are being bottlenecked by the GPU? Sure, it's 'real world', but it doesn't give you an idea of what your CPU investment is going to be like next year when a faster GPU comes along. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "Right now the DOOM 3 engine can rip apart almost any video card" - What does that mean? Doom 3 itself runs on most graphics cards from the Geforce 4Ti and up. It's even been made to run on a Geforce 2. It depends what you put into the engine in terms of the number of polygons, size of textures , effects, resolution and so on as to how much it stresses the graphics card.
Obviously if you're cranking up resolution and AA/AF/HDR then you'll need $1500 of SLI GPU nonsense, but I expect ET:QW will run reasonably with current hardware. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | In other news, I think you need to have words with your advert people. I seem to get a lot of pop-ups for TribalFusion all of a sudden when visiting FS. Worst of all they seem to get around the latest version of Firefox. The first time I've had to block a domain completely. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | One of our cats used to run up people's backs. One time we had some guy come to measure up for a new carpet, and he took one step inside the front door, and the cat came bolting indoors and straight up his back. The look on his face was priceless. Flag this | Edit this post |
