| The Succession Wars level 1 tech was more balanced than the level 2 stuff. No 3 critical XL engines for quick kills. No double heat sinks. I love omnimechs', but I was a little taken aback at how Mechwarrior 3 pretty much treated all mechs' like omnis! It was possible to go broke in MW2 mercs for mech' customizations.
I hope the devs strike a balance between simulation and action, but I doubt it. Jordan Weismann complained that MW 3 was too much a of a sim... so MW 4... well. It was fun, at least. Weapon hard points made sense in the game except for the omnis. They did it obviously for game balance, but the Clans had way better tech when they first showed up. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I'm still bitter over Westwood Studios. Tiberium Wars and more C&C games in the pipe have healed the wound a bit, but I sure miss Frank Klepacki dishing out industrofunk tunes! EA better bruise, then heal. Only time will tell, sooner or later, time will tell. Flag this | Edit this post |

| It sounds almost like an Xbox Live version of Megamek. Heck I was pleasantly surprised with Mechcommander 1 and 2. Pity that Fasa Studios shut down... that simply means that Fasa is completely dead now.
Microsoft owns the rights to make Battletech electronic games, I hope they don't sit on them. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I liked the firefights in the second game. Hearing "watch out" in several different languages or having the occasional grenade tossed (or tossed back) hardly got old for me. The graphics were good (but not great, with plenty of repeating models which was bad). The game for me serves between a cross between arcadish shooters such as Serious Sam and tactical shooters such as Rainbow Six. On harder difficulties Soldier of Fortune 2 really shines. Multiplayer was fun although some weapons were seen as newb friendly such as the USAS-12 and the M203. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Hearing this piece of news nearly broke my heart. Wish Raven would have handled developer duties, but since they're busy with the new Wolfenstein I am afraid Activision will sully the Soldier of Fortune series. First one was good, second great, and both had excellent multiplayer. I hope the game turns out well, but the Civil War game did not. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The Philadelphia gets nuked by Nod in C&C3... meaning General James Solomon is likely killed (James Earl Jones). In the beginning of Firestorm the Kodiak is caught in an ion storm and crashes. Michael Biehn's character was on board and likely died as well. I would love to see those two guys reprise their roles too. Flag this | Edit this post |
