| | 1:1 is never going to happen and for the forseeable future too. When the Wii first came out i had high expectations that this could be possible. However the reality is different. With out any tangible feedback (ie swords clashing, weight of sword) and that fact that a player can swing their arms faster then the ingame character can realistically swing the weapon means that this was just a good a idea in theory but not in practice. Sure if the game doesnt require any form of interaction (like a dance game) then sure 1:1 is cool. But sword play, unless some sort of gaming device was invented that realistically emulated the feel and weight of a real sword plus the physical interaction with the sword and its target, 1:1 sword play is currently impossible. | Oh hell yes i will spread the word. I was just wondering if there was a catch because what we are expected to pay is ridiculous. Just because us Aussies are forced to pay the equivalent of US99 for a retail copy of a newly released game doesnt mean we are willing to pay that much for a download.
However games seem to be getting cheaper thanks to Computer store selling games a massively reduced prices. Got Battlefield 3 Retail copy for about US$50! had to get it. Had to wait 2 weeks before they could fill the order but i got it.
Now theres a website claiming to sell games at around this price and works with steam im really blown away! Hope there is nothing im missing. Flag this | Edit this post |

| What do you mean less then successful? Does it mean i can use the game in my steam account which would be freaken awesome.
I feel Steam is selling the games at US$99 because thats what a retail copy usually goes for here in Australia and the dont want to destroy the local retail games market but hey why should we pay double if we can get it for what its worth online at US$50!
BTW what country do you live that you also pay ridiculous prices for your games like us Aussies Flag this | Edit this post |

| I got the limited edition version but have to wait till xmas when i get a chance to reinstall the whole system before installing this game. I was awestruck by the 'free' multiplayer gun a silenced 1911 colt .45 pistol included in the limited edition version ( if i join the ea gun club). I'll be using that all the time. not!
Anyone played coop on this game? Is it any good? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | hmm seems like we get the raw end of the deal this time, not that i was going to buy it but Modern Warefare 2 is selling for US$45 at supposedly halfprice which is ridiculous considering they just released a new game Flag this | Edit this post |

| Just finished Morrowind LOL
Was hard at the start but near the end it was a push over. Maybe i should have went and finish the main quest instead of doing all the side quests.
Skyrim looks epic and i look forward to playing this game - in a few years time Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I upgraded from a 24" to a 27" 3D monitor because i was interested in how 3D looks. All i can say is hopefully there are some improvements when i do a reinstall (and driver updates) because i cant play with it for too long (my worst fears about it were realized). The effect is ok but nothing that would force me to endure using it for long periods of time. Fortunately the monitor is still an excellent 2D monitor at 120htz but for anyone thinking about 3D, try before you buy. It was a good purchase in theory but as yet its not necessary in practice. | 19 inch monitor? You should consider atleast 24" or even 27" (its really nice!) and 1080p. Your card should do that easily (with most games) and if your upgrading to Ivy add a new monitor to your upgrade list. Its worth it.
Im going for the mid range upgrade every 2-3 years depending when i need it.
Since i wont be playing any new games for aleast 2 years i have no need to upgrade so though i was tempted by Ivy bridge i just dont need that power, so waiting till i do will be cheaper and better in the long run for me. Flag this | Edit this post |

| LOL the pass down to the wife. Thats what i do. Well atleast she doesnt care as long as it still looks ok. We play alot of Coop gaming too. Hers is a q6600 and 4890 but since shes playing FPS with me she needs a decent PC (MMOs dont need as much GPU power) Her graphics was a 8800gtx but i felt thats too old so i got the HD6950 and gave her one of the 4890s i had in Crossfire. No more Crossfire/sli for me. Its a waste of power.
Was going to do a full upgrade when Ivybridge came along but considering i have over 200 old but good games (still have to play Oblivion, Fallout, Mass effect 1 & 2, 3 Total War games, Halflife 2, 2 Mount and blade games i am well covered for a few years. Still finishing off Morrowind 160 hours in lol) games now (damn steam sales)and none of them need Ivy or a new GPU (HD6950 should have no problems) im going to wait till i go through this back log of games then worry about upgrading. When the games i have cant be played then i will upgrade, and not before. Flag this | Edit this post |

| every 2 years sometimes less
Who the hell upgrades several times a year? Must have alot of money to throw around.
BTW your survey is still not working properly i put 'only when i need to' and it says i already voted. There is only one vote on the survey and its not the one i selected. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Dont normally play online fps shooters. The last one i played was Counterstrike and that was a long time ago. From the choices you give me it would definately be Battlefield. Never played it online but i remember playing BF1942 all those years back with Bots over LAN. Top stuff that. The latest one looks pretty sweet too. Flag this | Edit this post |

| You complain about how Apple enslaves thousands of poorly paid workers which is why you hate them, yet you said thanks for my itouch which makes you a part of the problem. That is you are perpetuating the thing you said you hate by buying and enjoying the product.
I on the other hand i loathe my ipod classic, forced onto me due to my new car only having that particular connector (most new cars are like this). Instead of buying a cheap 32gb USB flash drive that would have been a tenth of the price to get a music juke box for my car i was forced to buy an ipod classic (not new so i dont contribute to new ipod sales, but from ebay). I hear what your saying, i dont like that what Apple does to its workers to sell their over hyped and overpriced one size fits all products, but they are hardly the only one that does it.
I dislike apple products mainly due to their 'monopolistic' type attitude, namely their lawsuit against Samsung regarding design patents (i think to do with the Galaxy phones and tablets) or what ever that nonsense is. I mean the iphone 4 looks strikingly similar (save for the buttons on the bottom) to the LG Prada, which came out a long time before the iphone 4, there is only so much design changes that can be done on a hand held/tablet device. | | Guess that makes sense, however i look to a global retail site like Ebay, where its one price for everyone for the products (although shipping varies obviously) Dont know why everyone else can run this way (They even have seperate localised websites too). I mean Im sure Ebay has to go exactly the same issues you mention of advertising legal work etc. Flag this | Edit this post |
