| | Sure there is no question the quality / price jump ratio between vhs > dvd and dvd > hd-dvd / blu-ray, but I'm asking why the need to have this competition at this juncture in time? If they only agreed on one format, then they could have focused more on improving content and the hardware, and not making people buy 2 set-top boxes to watch movies... ugh. | | Question, if the so-called 'format-war' benefits from having competition (ie. drive down prices) - then why did the DVD format (one format) do SO well and is still doing very well? | So sad, I was a rally watcher at one time, and even went to an event in Perth, watched the man race. He was a rally legend. I also didn't know he retired.
To think of all the times he could have been hurt or killed on the rally track, it was ironic he died this way. Sad that his very young son died along with him and two other people.
