Yeah, but if it wasn't for the slow deliberate movements it wouldn't even make sense gameplay wise. I think that's why it looks like a cut scene, or like a long series of quicktime events with some free movement in between.

Also, that guy has a hell of a grip to jump from one rail, drop 100 or so feet, and then grab onto the other rail... with just one hand. And how did he know to jump rails at that exact moment again?

Overall I think it looks completely contrived and wooden. Color me unimpressed.

I just canceled my auto-renew on XBL. You can buy a 12 month card for less than the auto renew anyway so it always seemed like a bit of a rip off.

Funny, target.com is back ordered on this item, so I guess a bunch of other people are doing the same thing. GG Microsoft! You just got people to not only pay for 12 month gold subscriptions, but probably to buy a couple of years worth in one go!

EEeeeeeew! That looks awful! Well, OK, it looks good, but the playstyle is so kiddie and awful and railsy! Reminds me of certain sequences in Lego Starwars, where it was appropriate.

I guess it's an attempt to make space combat more "accessible".

I fully agree with this highly intelligent individual. In fact, I think that the next PS3 RTS that supports the Move should allow for cross platform play with PC gamers!

Oh, woe to those poor PC players who can only play with the mouse and keyboard!

Reply to :"Ive got a similar set up... Its not exactly ideal and not comfortable at all, the angle the wrist is in would lead to soreness within a short time."

Well if it's not ideal and not comfortable and leads to soreness then you are "doing it wrong" ;)

Both of my arms sit at a 100% wrist neutral and are supported 100%. But I'm nearly laying down while playing, I'd say about 75% recline position or more. Ergonomically it's the best for your neck and back BTW and I sit this way at work as well. I've played for hours this way and not felt a twinge of pain or fatigue.

If you saw me play you would probably think I was insane, but you should try it, it's very relaxing.

Of course I have a 72" TV so that helps, if you have a small TV or sit too far away it might be hard to see the targets...

I've linked to a picture of something similar to how I sit, but on a couch instead of a bunch of pillows.

Whoa, wait, what? OK, so some of you might not know, but this site used to be called "Thresh's Firing Squad" and Thresh is Dennis Fong, and apparently Dennis co-founded Xfire. Heh.

I guess he left Xfire and FS to create Raptor and gamers.com... Not bad for a Quake player.

So "Xfire redefined how gamers communicate" and now it will "help gaming companies better engage and monetize their games". Sounds awesome! I always wanted to be more easily monetized!!!

"Secondly how can you use a mouse without a desk?"

Um... My main PC is hooked up to my TV which is in front of my couch. I use my mouse by putting it on the couch cushion, I don't even use a mouse pad (though I could). Keyboard sits in my lap (you get used to it). KB and Mouse are both wireless and both Logitech.

Laying back on a couch is way more comfortable that sitting hunched over a desk.

I don't pretend to be a great gamer, and any wireless lag isn't noticed by me.

I've read that you have to have the full retail price in your paypal account available even if it is discounted. Steam will only take the discounted price out, but the full amount has to be there.

Does no one remember LCD shutter glasses? I had real "pop out of the screen" 3d gaming back with my dual Monster 3D II cards and LCD shutter glasses a decade ago. Those cards had a whopping 12MB of video ram each! Talk about high tech! lol.

I'm sure the XBox can handle 3D, just not at 1080p resolutions.

I don't see why the new 120hz LCD monitors are needed. Maybe because they are shooting for 60 frames a second with each eye and therefore 120 frames a second are needed?

You can play Fable 2 coop split screen?

I imagine this is something they will be implementing in their next version of Halo. Or perhaps it's like inspectrex says and will be a tech available to all 360 games.

» I guess it depends on your definition of "NEW"
Those games are all at least a year old. It would be nice to get day 1 releases of new games on the service. Maybe even a preload so that you can unlock it at midnight?

These games are supposed to belong to your live account, I wonder if they will work on the next XBox...

Prior to my 386 I had that exact same computer except with 640KB. CGA graphics too! Woohoo 4 whole colors! My favorite thing about the 386 was the SVGA graphics card with 256 colors! Oh man, kings quest looked so sweet... too bad I didn't like the game.

My favorite game at the time was Star Control II... still is actually :)

» How things have changed...
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Memory: 256 MB RAM, 512 MB for Vista
Hard Drive: 2.5GB free hard drive space

In 1990 I think I had a 386 with like a 100 MB hard drive...

I believe that game also had a "magic eye" mode where it would render the scene like one of those pictures in the mall where you have to cross your eyes to see it. Yeah, it worked, but it was hard to concentrate on the moving images and it kept switching back to a bunch of static.
