Aah, reading your opinion really makes my day. You are such an amusing guy. I'm so glad that you just get along with everyone and accept each console for what it is.

Personally, I like the new dashboard.

"no one in their right mind would pay for that"

That's probably what happened! ;)

"Hey, no one is using G4WL! OK, let's just give it away and see what happens."

The only thing I don't like about video game books is that the game designers often act as though you've read all of the books and understand the back story. Therefore they leave out any and all back story in the actual game.

I'm thinking about Halo 3 here mainly (I didn't play 1, 2 or read any of the books). Not that Gears 1 explained the back story very well.

They should have some sort of "story recap" to explain things in games like this. Oh well, I guess "Story" isn't the reason I play FPS games...

While I won't be playing it, I consider this great news! They must have come to some sort of resolution with the Dawn of the Dead people. Come on Dead Rising 2!

It's always good for the customer when there is competition in the marketplace.

I just hope that neither side ever "wins".

This is one thing that I always liked about PC gaming, if you upgraded your hardware then your old games ran better and/or looked better. Too bad this isn't the case with any console (so far).

That's one hell of a recommendation for MGS4, BTW. I'm still not buying a PS3, but your enthusiasm is duly noted.

Yes, and no. It may be smaller, but it's not smaller than not having a PS2 around at all. Plus that's one more AC, video and audio hookup you have to plug into the rats nest behind the TV.

The apple store says it would cost around $4500 without monitor. That's 8GB RAM though, they don't have an option for 6...

OK, depending on the price, this could be pretty awesome.

I've been wanting to move my gaming out to the living room, now it seems easier (and quieter) than ever.

Too bad it's ATI, I've not had much luck with them.

From the screenshots and videos I've seen, I'd be very surprised if the sysreqs were much higher than WC3's were.

Eh, they are fun at parties and other sorts of social gatherings since non-gamers can get in on the fun. They have a similar draw as Karaoke, and like Karaoke, it's not for everyone.

Ugh. This is one game genre where I think competition is bad. I really don't want to have to store TWO drum sets.

Sigh... They need to agree on a standard kit that works with all games.

Curing cancer is SO last year, and I hear that Mt. Doom is closing due to operating costs. You may want to auction your instant classic (not in a good way) on ebay and get a true graphics interface like me.

See, I've forgone your petty flat panel displays entirely. I have WiFi 90325.2z rev 666 directly shunted into my brain. I'm live on the InternetMeTube V4 right now.

Heh, I bet you used a keyboard to type in your text, how quaint.

I have GTA1 in it's original box on my wall. I opened it up and it has hard copy maps of "liberty city" and "vice city". heh. I should try to use DOS Box to run it.

I always had a hard time driving in GTA1 and 2. Just when I got up to speed I would rear-end someone. I loved GTA3 just because I could see where I was going :)

» Agreed
You hit the nail on the head right there!

Vice City didn't take itself seriously, and that's why it was great.

It's not that GTA4 is bad, it's just not what I expected. It was like walking into a movie theater expecting an action/comedy and finding out that it's actually a crime drama. (spoiler alert, sorta) One with a real downer of a moral(ish) ending.

Still, it's a good game. Definitely worth playing and a 95% (or more) game to be sure...

It is what it is. You can't say "No Country for Old Men" is a bad movie just because it's not a comedy.

Agreed, escaping from the cops is really easy now. Just keep an eye on the mini-map for where the cops are ahead of you and drive to avoid them. It also helps to have a fast car, otherwise the cops can keep up with you.

I must be the only person who immediately turned auto-aim off. It's more fun if you have to aim IMO.

Yes, it would be nice to set the default height of the chase cam, as it is I drive around while slightly pushing forward on the right stick to get a better vantage point.

Really? $400 doesn't seem too bad to me, especially if you are interested in Bluray. I'm not, and I don't have one, but I no longer think they are overpriced since they dropped the price from $600.

You obviously know more about Superman than I do.

On Kryptonite, why doesn't every neerdowell simply carry some around with him? It always seemed like the stupidest weakness... How can you be allergic to your home planet? Wouldn't they all have died out long ago?

A non-M rated MK? Eh?

Also, I never understood putting someone like superman in a fighting game. Shouldn't he always win and never get hurt?

IMO Soul Calibur on the DC was better than SC2 on the XBox. In fact, I'm one of those people who still has a DC hooked up to their system just for this game. I've not played it in a while, but it will be nice to play it as long as they don't mess up the feel of the controls.

They said they couldn't do the Tyranids "properly" with the DOW1 engine, one can only hope that they are building this engine with 'nids in mind this time.
