| Hmmmm... I don't have a Wii and therefore cannot be certain, but I had a similar issue when I first hooked up my 360. For me it was my TV distorting the image and not the console, and it sounds like may be having the same issue.
You wouldn't happen to be using a front or rear projection TV would you? If you do, you may want to hire a professional to realign your TV's guns/mirrors/lamps/whatever.
A good way to check if it's the Wii and not your TV is to hook the Wii up to an LCD monitor. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "exclusive in-game content including five new multiplayer maps"
So... you can only play these against other "Kane Edition" owners? I imagine they won't get a lot of use if that is true.
What's next? Maybe in their next FPS game the collector's edition will give you a 10% damage bonus in multiplayer! Wow, what a great idea! Psh, stupid money grubbing EA. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » "Cyberathlete Professional League" What about the word "Professional" don't you understand?
I could understand your issue with the team if this was a CAL event, but it's not, it's a CPL event. e.g. they were playing against other sponsored teams/players.
CPL = gamers like Fatal1ty and The Frag Dolls.
CAL = you and your friends
By your rationale all pro teams are BS. Yankees are BS because they pay good players to move to NY and be on their team! No fair! I want to win the world series with my best buds! Flag this | Edit this post |

| Probably because Monolith is working on their own titles these days and has no time to do a new Alien game.
It's too bad because AvP2 was a great game with awesome multi-player. What other FPS had 3 distinct sides to play (besides AvP1)?
Well.. Natural Selection had 2... Ah, Natural Selection... that was a good game... Flag this | Edit this post |

| As an MP3 player it is HUGE, I mean truely MASSIVE! Who wants to tote around that brick just to listen to music?
As someone else has pointed out, you could buy both a DS and a video player for the price of the PSP + memory stick. You will also get more game choices and more music storage in the bargain.
I say dedicated devices for dedicated uses. This Sony "all-in-one" device nonsense is getting out of hand. Jack of a all trades, master of none. Flag this | Edit this post |

| OK, you do realize that you sound like a Sony viral ad, right? Maybe you were being sarcastic?
Anyway, you can get a good 30GB hard drive video player with a bigger screen and Divx support for about the same price you are quoting for your PSP.
Yes, PSP plays games, but like someone has already said, there aren't that many good games for it, and some of the best are just ports of games from other systems.
BTW, I own a PSP, and I still say it sucks.
I think the PSP should have just stuck to being a game system like the DS. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, IF they can capture a quarter of that profit they will be successful.
However, Interplay does not have Blizzard's history of releasing blockbuster titles and that's going to be a problem when it comes to securing the 75 million from investors. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I assume you are talking about how PS3 downgrades you to 480p if you don't support 720p or 1080p? Yes, I get that.
If you are talking about something else then please read my other posts as I don't want to type that all in again. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Interlacing isn't as good as progressive, but saying that 1080i is a lower resolution than 720p is just false, or at the very least a heavy handed manipulation of the facts.
Interlacing does cut the image in half by odd and even lines, but it then displays half the lines (odd) then it displays the other half (even). In the end you get an image that has more lines of resolution than 720. Anyone who says otherwise has an agenda.
The big difference is how 720p does 60 full frames a second while 1080i only does 60 half (30 full) frames a second.
Progressive wins, but 720p isn't default better than 1080i for anything other than games.
This is all besides the point anyway since if you don't have 720p but DO have 1080i (as is the problem with some PS3 owners) then you don't get to use EITHER.
In a perfect world we would all have 100" 1080p TV's and receive 1080p60 signals from every video playing device in our homes. But for now, Sony needs to pick up the slack and up-convert to 1080i. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Um, 1920 * 1080 = 2073600
So, yeah, a little more than twice the "dots" per full image than 720p. Maybe you are speaking about how "i" only does half an image at a time?
Sure sure, 720p does a max of 60 full frames a second, while 1080i does a max of 30. I find it hard to understand how watching TV (30 frames per second) or a movie (24 frames per second) will be affected.
Now PS3 and XBox360 will be hugely affected... and I guess we are talking about that in TFA.
Progressive > Interlaced, but it's NOT a higher resolution image no matter how hard you want it to be. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I feel your pain! I once paid $400 for a 9800 Pro. Luckily I had some severe driver issues (5 frames per second!!!) and was so upset that I returned it to the store. :)
When I finally did buy a 9800 Pro it was only $150 and had no driver issues. Flag this | Edit this post |

| You will grow out of it. Well, at least I did. I must have spent 50% of my paycheck keeping my computer upgraded back in the day. Now I only upgrade every year or so, and then it's usually just a new mid-line video card and not an entire system upgrade like in the old days.
Also, buying bleeding edge hardware is it's own punishment as you have to deal with new driver woes. Mid-line is the only way to go. If you go mid-line you will get a totally playable frame rate in NWN2 and spend less than half as much. Hell, you could buy MY computer for less than what you are planning on spending on your CPU _alone_ and I'm talking everything including my monitor!
I'm sure the system you have listed is more "future proof" but I'm here to tell you that there is no reason to have a future proof computer. By the time this supposed future comes around everything you've listed will have dropped in price by 50% or more! No point in buying computer stuff for things you want to do a year or two down the line.
It's crazy to think how much cheaper hardware is these days, I've got a 22" LCD for $330, back in the day I spent $2K for a 21" CRT (I told you I was bad back then). Your $900 CPU will be $400 in a year, just buy what you need for now, and let the future sort itself out.
For reference: I get playable frame rates in every game I've got and I play at 1620x1050 with a 7900gt and AMD 64 3500+. I've thought about picking up an X2, but I'll be damned if I'm paying more than $200 for one.
No I don't have NWN2 so I can't tell you how well that plays, but I've played Supreme Commander without issues and it's a pretty demanding game. Maybe I'll pick NWN2 up and see. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Too little too late? Um, Logitech's G5 laser does 2000 dpi with 2 ms response. Sure, 1 ms is half the time as 2 ms, but I don't think it will make a difference. I highly doubt you are getting more than 500 frames per second (2 ms per frame) from your video card, so therefore faster response times from your mouse are kind of useless.
Come to think of it, 500 updates per second is pretty ridiculous to begin with. But whatever, gaming is all about putting out stupid high (or low) numbers.
Heh, I still have the round tin from my Razer Boomslang. Too bad Razer went down hill so fast. Link: http://www.logitech.com/index.......CONTENTID=10715 Flag this | Edit this post |

| Arguing semantics isn't a good way to make a point.
So, to satisfy your "issue", switch out "third person shooter" for FPS and my point is still valid.
Just so you know, I've played the full GoW campaign on the 360. It's a good game, but I would have been able to control my character better with a mouse and keyboard. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, I guess it would be a lot harder to run up on someone if they had a mouse to aim with.
Whatever, if I never get a grenade stuck on my back while spazing out with the assault rifle it will be too soon.
I've never feared a guy with no gun in his hand more than in GoW. All he has to do is dodge right or left a couple of times and then he's giving you the old "pat on the back". All you can do is sigh and say "man, wish I had a mouse". Flag this | Edit this post |
