| But they are holding a gun, the wait gun. If they pull the trigger (and they will) then I have to wait... I hate waiting. Luckily, I hate simulation driving games more, so I win either way.
Maybe they should sell an "epilogue" version of GT5 in 9 months which costs less that GT5 and fleshes out the "prologue" version to be the full GT5. In the end you will pay more total (maybe $40 twice vs $60 once), but you got to play for 9 months.
Yeah, they aren't going to do that, but it would be nice. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So are you asdfqwerty (which wouldn't surprise me BTW) or are you just trying to implicate him?
I've long since suspected that you had a real account but were only posting anon. Or am I just so interesting that you check FS constantly for my pearls of wisdom? Flattering really. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I will admit that you are implying that I am clever (thank you) and use big words (Um, whatever) and therefore have small genitalia (subjective and irrelevant).
Anyway, I forgot to mention who S.King borrows from. H.P. Lovecraft. It's OK though, they all borrow from ole H.P.
I'll further state that D&D is as much of a rip-off of Tolkien as S.King is a rip-off of Lovecraft: not much.
However, I've read some D&D based novels... Wow, almost direct plagiarism of the people and events in LotR. Pathetic. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Um, no, that's what you are stating.
See, when you say something outright like "oranges are purple where I come from" then you are not implying anything. See?
Now if you say something like "I would never read anything by a hack writer, I read S.King." Then you would be implying that S.King wasn't a hack. Make sense?
Furthermore if you said "I would never read anything by a hack writer, although I do admit to reading S.King." Then you would be implying that S.King is a hack but that you are willing to violate your "no-hack" rule because you like him anyway.
I'm not putting "words in your mouth", I'm simply misunderstanding you due to your poor use of language.
BTW: how would you know about the size of the genitalia of clever people who use big words? Also, what if I'm a female? wouldn't small genitalia be a positive thing?
Finally: genitalia is a large and clever sounding word... do your rules apply to yourself? Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm not sure, I've never played D&D. What I've been led to believe was that D&D was a set of rules and descriptions of items, places and beings. The players supplied the characters and story.
So, you are right, and you are wrong. How is it that creating text for people to read is original and creative, but creating rules for people to play a game is not? Are the creators of Monopoly or Chess creative? More or less than the creator of something as complex as D&D?
You cannot simply state your opinion and expect me to say, "oh yes, you have a good point there, he was an idiot that didn't influence anyone".
I guess your posts aren't really about having a point though are they...
Wow, the "C" word. Someone has mommy issues.
Hmmm... I wonder if this is the same anon as the others... It would be much easier to tell if you would register and it's no less anonymous... Flag this | Edit this post |

| I guess you aren't familiar with implication. By saying that you would rather read S.King than some "rip off" you are implying that S.King is not a "rip off", intentionally or no.
To avoid confusion you should try to be more clear in your own text.
So, in summation, I see this as a failing in your post rather than a failing of my comprehension.
Maybe you disagree, maybe you don't. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Wow, I remember being that dedicated to computer video games.
I think it's been a year since I played a video game on my PC, it's kinda sad really, but at least I've not had to upgrade. Maybe if I move my system out to the living room... yeah, that might be pretty cool... I've a better speaker system out there anyway and a large TV... hmmm... Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Here troll, fetch! There is nothing new under the sun. If you think that S.King is 100% original then you've not read enough.
Anyway, it's fruitless to try and compare a game with a series of books. This is a text book case of comparing apples to oranges (and at least those are both fruit). Flag this | Edit this post |

See, the difference between me and you is that you CARE that people CARE. OK, so that's not the only difference, but that's the important difference in this case ;)

| | It's not crippled. The HDD isn't necessary to play games. The only thing you would be unable to do with the included memory card is download large files from the XBL library. That's demos and videos mainly, not exactly necessities. Flag this | Edit this post |

Will so many care when you die? Maybe that's what you are really upset about?
Oh well, that's enough feeding of the troll for now. Have a nice day playing "ARMA", whatever that is, all I could find is Armed Assault. I bet if you query the developers of that game that you will find quite a few D&D players, many of whom are saddened by this news. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Anakaris, speaking as a programmer who works for a company that has made millions off of my work, I find your idea awesome. I also find it highly unlikely.
What you have described is a "fair" system, but life isn't fair :)
As I see it, they commissioned the programmers to create something, once it has been created, it's theirs to profit off of. If the programmers wanted more money then they (the programmers) should have asked for more at the beginning.
In my experience, businesses will pay you just enough to keep you around. If you want to become rich, then you have to start your own business... and screw over your own employees, unfortunately.
Just in case you were wondering, yes these tactics kill productivity. If you pay employees just enough to not leave, then you will get employees that work just enough to not get fired... I am posting from work after all! Flag this | Edit this post |

| RedRay, it's because FiringSquad's comment system only allows 3 deep replies. Any more and the replies would start to become exponentially elongated due to their ultra-lame fixed width formatting scheme.
Ever had a really long e-mail conversation with indented replies?
Eventually
the

this.
Do we really need all the BS on the right and left side? Do we really need huge blue borders "letterboxing" the site's content? I'm using a widescreen monitor BTW and the blue borders take up about 1/4 of the screen (1/8th on right and 1/8th on left).
Anyway, the rest of this is pointed at people who think that the actual developers should get the money:
It sucks that the people with the money are the ones who always get more money, but that's how our economy works. The rich get richer allowing them to "risk" more money which in-turn employs more people. Without investors, a lot of small businesses wouldn't even get off the ground.
It's called trickle down economics. Emphasis on the word trickle.
Anyway, I bet that the actual developers ALSO saw substantial bonuses, just not millions. Not only is it highly likely that many of them were offered stock bonuses at some time, but also very likely that there were cash bonuses handed out as well. It's just that cash bonuses like that wouldn't make the news. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yes, it would work just like that, except that in the future you would have enough bandwidth to support what "Stories" is talking about.
He's right, in it's "current state" it's not possible, but 10 years ago YouTube would have looked impossible as well. Flag this | Edit this post |

People like me don't care about physical media. In fact, people like me are irritated by physical media and would much rather pick from a list on the TV than rifle though a rack of physical media.
Hence, all of my physical media has been ripped and stored on my PC so that I can stream it to my TV. Flag this | Edit this post |

I like the 360, I really do, but how can they run a business this way?

Sure, not with your 56k, but what about 20Mbps+ FTTP connection? I have 12Mbps on my cable modem, I say give it another 5 years and streaming HD movies won't be a problem. Bye bye Bluray and HD-DVD.
