| yeah well maybe games do play a part in a psycho's quest for destruction, but what about violent movies? What about CNN, what about toy guns, what about cartoons... they probably ALL played a part...
Is our society too violent? yeah I would say so... should we clamp down on violent media? Maybe for children, but for the rest of us adults it's entertainment we enjoy. You can't censor the masses for the isolated actions of one troubled man... and if you start where do you stop, do we all end up in straight jackets in rooms with white padded walls watching infomercials?
Just my 2 cents... kind of pisses me off when they isolate games as a possible cause...

| It's slander or more accurately libel you moron, and who's to say the lies were outrageous, they seemed pretty believable to me - they list a porn movie they say he watches regularly, say he's on steroids, say he has sex with students... how is this outrageous. The keg behind the desk is a little much but still you can't just go around and spew lies about someone and ruin their reputation for your own amusement or revenge. How would you like someone doing this to you and then notifying your family members...
I think the parents shoul dbe held some what accountable too...

| Again, it all depends on how you define important, influenial doesn't necessarily mean important. Since Counter Strike is so huge, has such a big following, more people play cs than all other online games combined not including MMORPGs (was for a long time not sure if it's still true today)... but based on it's popularity, yeah I would deam it as "important"...

| WTF is Sensible World of Soccer ??
I've followed games for over 20 years, programmed a few crappy ones myself and never heard of this game, and why is it "important" exaclty? I guess for this list to mean anything someone has to define what they mean by "important"... I've played all the Zork games (only game I could play in school since it was all text) but I sure wouldn't consider it important... it was quite lame even for it's time...
What about original castle wolfenstein, Half Life, pong and Master of Orion?
My list would look like:
1. Pong
2. Pacman or Space Invaders
3. Tetris
4. Castle Wolfenstein or Ultima Underworld
5. Ultima IV - first decent rpg with npc interaction
6. Civilization or Master of Orion
7. The Sims or Simcity
8. Counter Strike (biggest non MMORPG multi player game ever)
9. Half Life (how can you leave it off the list?)
10. World of Warcraft (hate to admit it)
Not sure what was the first ever MMORPG but that should probably make the list. First for me I think as Lineage or was it Ultima Online...

| Xbox 360, PS2 and xbox games are pirated like mad, so I don't see why they are singling out PC games...
PS3 maybe not yet but will be soon, but you can find tons of xbox360 torrents out there right now if you wanted too. I think the real issue is that console gamers are too stupid to figure it out for the most part (that's why they favour consoles to begin with)... there's lots of xbox 360 torrents but not in the same number as PC torrents, I think the "pirating per user" is much higher on the PC...
