| "I'm with the commenters saying we should just deduct that from the hundreds of billions of dollars Iraq owes us."
On some other planet where we didn't invade their country, kill at least 100,000 Iraqis ourselves with millions more being refugees - you'd have a great point. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | This is what *drives* people to pirate games in the first place, because pirates take this shit out. No worrying about flakey internet connections or flakey authentication servers. Oh, and no being nagged to buy downloadable bullshit, because the torrent already came with it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Um, we have socialism right now. Only it's for rich investment bankers, not working class Americans. Even Republicans have pointed out that when Hugo Chavez nationalized the oil companies in Venezuela, the people saw some profits.
As opposed to the U.S., which has privatized gains for the rich yet the losses are pushed onto the taxpayer. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Any "proof", you mean other than the Iranian leader being willfully mistranslated by the media as saying that Israel must be destroyed, wiped off the face of the earth, and that Iran would be proud to be the ones that do it?
Fixed that for you. Ahmadinejad has never said he wants to "wipe Israel off the map". Ever. What he did say was that the "Zionist regime should be wiped from the pages of histroy" i.e. go the way of the apartheid government of South Africa.
Which it deserves to be. Why did an ethnic population that made up 10% of the area's population deserve all the land? Even with the British "Palestinian mandate" plan that called for separate Jewish and Arab states gave the 30% Jewish (after 30 years of immigration) 56% of the land before 1948.
And why does Israel get to keep the land it conquered in the 1967 war, which they started over water rights?
Why does Israel still get to hunt Nazi war criminals, yet Palestinians robbed of their land after WWII should be content to live in refugee camps? Flag this | Edit this post |

| » 143 days? just how stupid are you? Obama has been a U.S. senator for 4 years, and an Illinois state senator for 8 years before that. There's just a *few* more than 143 days in 12 *years*.
And just to further prove how full of shit Republicans are on this, ask them if they voted for Gore (30 years public service) over Bush (5 years as the 5th most powerful politician in Texas, as TX gov is very weak).
Consistency: Kryoptonite for wingnuts. Flag this | Edit this post |

To peddle that same "no difference" crap after 8 years of Bush makes you dumber than Nader by several orders of magnitude. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "On Kryptonite, why doesn't every neerdowell simply carry some around with him?"
Because 1) it's rare and 2) it's carcinogenic. Lex Luthor did exactly as you suggest and started wearing a Kryptonite ring, got cancer real bad, and had to clone himself a new body.
"It always seemed like the stupidest weakness... How can you be allergic to your home planet? Wouldn't they all have died out long ago?"
It's because their solar system blew up, irradiating debris from their home planet. Flag this | Edit this post |

Vista is a big piece of shit, and you're eating it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » wow For that price you could a couple Mac Pro's with dual quad core Xeons, 32 gigs of ram, four 300 Mb 15,000 rpm SAS drives with a RAID card, a 1.5 gb Quadro and a couple of 30" displays for each.
With enough money left over to get a maxed out 17" Macbook Pro, one of every iPod in every color and an iPhone.
Or more likely, I'd just go buy my Shelby Mustang. :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| » pfft My turkey story completely blows away your cow story. A friend of mine was off hunting turkeys with a buddy. After stalking one through a ditch, he pops up from the tall grass and shoots it. It falls over, apparently dead. I say "apparently" because as soon as he went to pick it up, it lashed out with its other foot and stuck a talon half an inch or so into his hand.
My friend then drop kicks the turkey and starts walking back to his truck. His buddy comes over to see why my friend is holding his hand with blood dripping out of it, and told him about the turkey. The buddy then walks over to the turkey, pulls out his 45, and shoots it in the head.
Then they drove to the closest clinic, and went in still wearing all their hunting gear - camo coats and pants, hunters orange hats. The receptionist asks what he's come in for. My friend says he needs stitches because he was gored by a turkey.
The receptionist looks at him, and asks, "did this happen at home?" Flag this | Edit this post |

| Iran is an undemocratic extremist theocracy
And who's fault is it that Iran is an "undemocratic extremist theocracy?" England's, for invading the country during WWII because they didn't want them to align with Germany. And the United States, for overthrowing their peaceful, democratic government because it was *gasp* socialist.
One such group is Hezbollah, which carried out the massive bombing of a U.S. marines barracks in 1983, under orders from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Attacking a hostile military force occupying your homeland is *not* terrorism, they're a valid military target. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » bullshit Zionist propaganda Israel never should have existed in the first place. It was created as a Jewish state, ignoring the non-jews living there, with the justification that Jews deserved a homeland after the Holocaust. Except the Gypsies were slaughtered by the Nazis with every bit as much enthusiasm as the Jews, but they never got a land of their own. And Israel STARTED the 1967 war in a dispute over water rights. | » because consoles suck for first person games Some games need certain controls. Racing aficionados would certainly mock somebody for trying to play Grand Turismo with a keyboard, and so are console players mocked for trying to play FPS's with controllers. But, don't take my word for it, just wait till good console players are annihilated by mediocre PC players. Flag this | Edit this post |

No, they don't have to worry about "hundreds of thousands" of combinations, they only have to worry about DirectX and sometimes the driver platforms for ATI/Nvidia. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » dude, put down the Koolaid The problem with console makers and console fanboys is that they compare vaporware (consoles to be released) with current PC processors. The reality is that by the time the console is released, the PC has more than caught up tot the console. You spend "thousands" on a quad Core 2 processor, it's not going to equal the PS3, it's going to leave it in the dust. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | You're full of shit, because it does happen. A lot. Not cops beating people up in bars per se, but police misconduct in general. The ONLY reason we are hearing about this is because there are witnesses and it was caught on video - like the UCLA tazering. Most of the time, that isn't going to happen.
