| » Thank God! 22% higher 3DMark06 scores? Wow, ATI sure is focusing on the important things! I sure wouldn't want them to do anything about relatively poor performance with Core 2 Duo, and I definitely wouldn't want them to do anything about the 15 to 30 seconds start a delay while .Net and the CCC drivers are loaded. I just wish they would improve 3DMark05, 3DMark03, and 3DMark01 performance....
Seriously, though, at least they managed to improve OpenGL performance. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » BS I can say for certain that my wife (a redhead) does not have sex more than most women I know, and it certainly wasn't my choice. There's a reason were getting divorced, of course. I'm done dealing with redheads, I guarantee you that! Give me a blonde next time. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I know I've seen *some* improvements by going from single core to dual core, though obviously not at maximum resolution and settings. The game is certainly very GPU limited. Take your test system from this article (with CrossFire enabled) and test at 1280x1024 without antialiasing. That at least should show that the game can indeed use two CPU cores, but in general it doesn't help too much as the smoke and other effects are simply too complex for most graphics cards to run fast. | » Call of Duty 2 SMP "We ran tests earlier this year with an earlier build of CoD 2 and found little or no improvements from dual-core, even with the latest build it looks like things haven’t changed much."
Believe it or not, the setting you need to enable is "Optimize for SLI". Without it, you won't really use SMP. What's worse, with v1.2 the setting isn't saved between application starts. Maybe v1.3 fixes that? Give it a shot. Link: http://www.anandtech.com Flag this | Edit this post |
