| How come people ask questions like, "their label was a subsidiary of Sony?" Then say, "Way to start the rebellion." Are you asking a question because you want to know the answer or are you just segwaying into complaining about something you didn't bother to look up first?
On another note RATM played many shows that had ALL proceeds go to various programs to help specific people (in other words not just some generic bureaucratic bullshit charity) and were part of various organizations.

| I've seen every episode of "Studio 60" so far and I can say it's fucking BS. Well, that's overtating it but the point is it's YET ANOTHER one of those shows where all you can think about is how fucking full of shit the writers are (ala The West Wing). It's like those writer douchebags think they're fucking geniuses and make the entire show a pointless spitting contest between shallow people with utterly insignificant problems yet whom somehow do everything to perfection. They always know what to say, how to say it, what to do, when to do it. Long, meaningless speaches about politics, relationships, art, etc all the while doing what ever it is they do - which is the least focused aspect of the show.
Studio 60, The West Wing, Sex and the City, Desperate House Wives, Crossing Jordan, CSI (ever version) Grey's Anatomy - in that order of most guilty to least - are all examples of shows that follow that, "The audience is fucking shallow and retarded" motif. Characters need to be real, they need to be dynamic, they need to be flawed and they need to be those ways without becoming fantasies of typical, fake, asshole high profile writers from New York and L.A.. | Are you kidding me? I've been watching the Daily Show since before Stewart was even the host (Kilborn hosted) and it's pretty clear The Daily Show is at its worst slump since its beginning. If you think The Daily Show is good now your head would have exploded a couple years ago.
The Daily show is suffering from all sorts of problems. All the primary writers are gone. Colbert left, Cordry left, Helms left, Carrel left. The show is currently a shell of its former self filled with bad correspondants, Stewart milking his AWEFUL Bush impression and his constant re... acting... really... slowly... to... everything - bit. The show WAS gold. Not to say it won't come back.
BUT now we have The Colbert report that is consistently hilarious, has a following 1000x more hardcore than The Daily Show's, and Colbert (who was the head writer for The Daily Show - which is why it WAS so funny) is constantly doing wild, creative things (download the press association dinner).
I like The Daily Show and all but at this moment The Colbert Report is far funnier and The Daily Show is riding the infammy it created during the Kerry/Bush presidency campaign. I have no doubts The Colbert Report will eventually overtake The Daily Show is viewship as soon as it gains the notoriety The Daily Show took several years to earn.

| Umm, of German women? Who the fuck cares? Different culture, different people, in no way comparable to the US. Especially since so many American women, including red heads, dye their hair.
Plus, is this a per capita statistic or just general? And more sex could mean that red heads are the most slutty. Not to mention these ruffly guided studies aren't an exact reflection of the whole area.

| While I never play MMORPGs, and have no desire to do so, I always take on male characters when playing RPGs because the games I play are usually of the more expansive ones (Morrowind, Baldur's Gate-types, etc) and since they flow with such epic-ness (is that a word?) I tend to get deeply involved in the world being presented. A male character is more easily relatable to - in the sense that you are the character.
I've always considered games as more of a way to experience an unreal world with book like story lines. I rarely play instant gratification games (FPSs, etc). It's like a movie; you want characterization so you can feel for the situation. Unlike a game, though, you aren't meant to experience the action first hand as the character him/her self. With games you can, and picking your gender as your character will greatly facilitate that experience. Flag this | Edit this post |
