Partly agree. I don't think graphics is that hugely important and that is not why the consoles are limiting. It has more to do with the limited amount of RAM and the controls on the consoles.
Let us not BS ourselves, it is because of money they move this to consoles as well, so there's likely to be some mainstreaming going on, meaning more for the lowest common denominator.

Graphics are nice, but the problem is that the whole thing looks more to be Mass Effect than Deus Ex.

"None of his campaign promises can be accomplished EVEN WITH total control of Washington"

Which is simply not true. Read the link.

And exactly what kind of evidence is there that the republican plan could have created twice the amount of jobs? Just saying so doesn't make it true.

Ridiculous hyperbole. The differences between the two corporate parties in USA is not that big in the first place to warrant such divisiveness.

USA is going for total bankruptcy and the rightwing still talk about cutting taxes?
Weird, its like wishing for an economic collapse but faster...

USA already has plenty of socialism. But most won't see it because it is not pointed out to them. USA is only more to the right when compared to Europe, otherwise there is no huge difference really.

But only 1GB is really usable.
___
To me this is too expensive, power hungry and noisy to even bother with. A generation or two and the same performance is available from one card. I'd rather wait.

I've had Crysis eat up about 2.5GB in fan made missions.

Had to revert back to 2GB on Vista64 for a while and it certainly is less responsive than with 4GB+

I think they should start using larger fans. The heatsinks are many times adequate in size but those tiny fans really should be replaced.

At this time it would be difficult to make those changes but I don't doubt that they are currently already working on the next version.
As an example avoided the poor x2900xt and got a 3870 instead. Nvidia's new line as well as Ati's x2900xt would've forced me to buy a new PSU too...so it would've been costly and more difficult to quietly cool down.

Needs a new revision before it is interesting.
1. Die shrink, hopefully 45nm
2. Ditch 512bit and go for superfast GDDR5
3. Card size reduction
4. Price reduction

Dualboot here on a fast C2D machine with 4GB RAM and latest WD 640GB drive and Vista is clearly slower in many applications.
Drivers for XP are more mature and have more features.
Superprefetch is kind of nice though.

How do you know there's a hell? Even Reagan understood in the end that a more neutral policy in the middle-east could've saved plenty of (American) lives. Why let the mistakes from the past continue?
Nixon too understood in the end that profit needs to be taken out of warfare or there will never be lasting peace, the only thing that really works.
One could also argue that it is cowardly to drop bombs from great hights, occupy countries with really non-existant militaries. Americans had no business being in 'Nam and neither did the French either.
As for taxes, Bush has raised them more than almost anyone (he actually has loaned more money than all previous presidents combined before him), he just puts in the creditcard. Another dumb idea which will result in more painful problems later.

The world and reality disagrees.
Enough PNAC imperialism. You cannot afford it, and presidents serve to protect the constitution and not butcher it. You know, gay bashing is popular among those fundamentalists in the middle-east. How are those theocracies working out?

And you do not really bother with gays if they are:
1. Republicans (Sullivan/Gannon/Rice?/Foley/Haggard/Craig...)
2. Lesbians (this is where gay bashers are often such hypocrits)

Here's the thing. Do you want freedom for all or freedom for some? Show some courage. Do not let religious nonsense guide laws, it seldom works out well, because faith based are faith based because they lack support by reality.
People do not get tall by hanging around tall people, it's the same with sexuality.

Clinton is the most investigated US politician, the research itself had more funding than the 9/11 (c)ommission and even today we hear about it.

The reasons why republicans might've been getting more coverage is:
1. They are constantly gay bashing (for voting/religilous reasons)
2. They have mostly been in power and vote against gay rights
3. Many of them have been caught in homosexual acts
4. Republicans were supposed to bring back dignity to the whitehouse

The one person who is responsible for the shootings is of course the now dead shooter.

But having a gun certainly helped him to kill all those people. I bet there's a reason he didn't use a knife.

I believe the reason many dems have a harder stance is because they have to for some reason prove that they have "values" just like the "christian right".

This format war is really lame, reminds me of SACD vs DVD-A where the latter should've won without a struggle and become an industry standard (with some changes though).

I'm tired of the lack of space on normal DVD-R's. It's time to move on.
