| If they write the character as an old man, which he is, it could be quite good. And poignant. I'm glad the finally got a screenplay that both Lucas and Spielberg like.
If they ignore the fact that he's 60+, or only make passing reference to it while still having him do all those crazy things, it'll be a joke. But it'll still make a ton of cash. Flag this | Edit this post |

| 1, 2, and 3 were totally different types of movies, and damn near equally good in accomplishing what they set out to. 2 is still my favorite balls-out ensemble actioner, 1 kicks ass for its claustrophobic suspense throughout, and 3...well, I still find it hard to define 3. But I really liked it.
As for 4...well...that halfcourt basketball shot she makes without looking is pretty cool. And reports are that the one you see was the last take, and it actually went in. But you can't tell, 'cuz it goes off camera. Oh, and Ron Perlman rules. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yep, Prison Break and Heroes are both of the same middling quality, alright. Studio 60 has some of the smartest writing of any show on right now, so I'm not surprised it's gonna get cancelled. People don't _like_ quality, they want to be pandered to. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The problem is that he undercuts everyone else and gets the studios to give him projects that, in other hands, could be good films. He's a hack, has admitted it, and has _no_ respect for his subject matter. Just wants to churn them out. Quantity over quality.
If I knew how to box, I'd take him on. But I don't. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I can't figure out why his death has hit me as hard as it has. I've dreamt the past several nights of death in one form or another.
I think it's maybe 'cuz I'm a relatively new father, and I think of his 3yr old and 8yr old kids, and his wife. I think it's easier to empathize with people I've never met, 'cuz I can project my own feelings on them (or at least what I _think_ I'd be feeling in their place).
The 3yr old won't remember him for long. He'll miss his dada for a short while, asking for him constantly, then it'll fade a bit and he'll just know that something very important is missing, but he won't be able to remember what it is, so he'll cry at night.
The 8yr old will always remember. Hopefully after awhile, all she'll have will be the great memories.
His wife is strong, but how do you go on after something like this? I know people find a way, but I'm not sure I could.
It absolutely kills me to think of them. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Communist.
It was _his_ money. Whether he wanted to burn it in the fireplace, shove it up his own ass, or give it to a person who brought a spark of happiness into his life by offering a little empathy and understanding in a lonely stretch of his life, that's his right.
And you don't know he _hasn't_ given millions to the needy. What a convenient assumption on your part, since it allowed you to make your sniping comment.
Next time you give $10,000 to a bunch of unfortunately people you'll never meet, come back and you can say, "So there." Until then, just deal with your jealousy of that waitress. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hmm. Just sounds like a bunch of dudes getting nekkid with each other in a parking lot. Or as I like to call it, Thursday night.
Oh well. Town deserves it if they don't outlaw it. If it bugs 'em enough, they will. Pretty easy situation. Flag this | Edit this post |

| At one point (and it still may be true), Tom Cruise had never been in a movie that grossed less than $100 million domestically. And for a long time he was doing at least one pic a year.
Batshit crazy or not (and I vote batshit), he's earned his salary compared to other A-list actors. He's made billions for his films' production companies. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Sorry, if you get that drunk and don't take precautions ahead of time to keep shit like that from happening to you, you deserve what the world dishes out just the same as if you'd jumped off a building. There will be consequences if you don't prepare prior (with a parachute or something). Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sure, it'll probably suck, but it might have a moment or two of coolness, and we really do need to start growing our next generation's action heroes. Though I guess this guy looks pretty old for that. Hmm.
I watched it without sound. Probably isn't as bad that way. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | IMDB and Netflix are your friends. I love the legend that when Jet Li was in Lethal Weapon 4 (one of his very first American parts), he had to be asked to actually slow down his moves, 'cuz they weren't being picked up very well by the filming. Flag this | Edit this post |
