| | Suggestion for benchmarking Supreme Commander (devs have recommended this before): Playback a demo. At the start, crank the speed up to 10x, then measure how long it takes to complete the demo. At the very start, all processors should be able to handle 10x playback, but the slower processors will soon be unable to maintain this pace. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Having used a 6600GT for about a year before switching to a 7800GTX, I feel your results are WAY OFF. Seriously, there is something wrong with your computer, or you are trying to use 8xSSAA.
I find it almost impossible to believe that your UT2004 experience is so poor. When I used a 6600GT with a A64 3200+, I was able to average 60 fps at 1280x1024 with 2xAA and 8xAF. Even in "technically demanding" scenes it would stay above 40.
Also, you should note that 4 fps was about what I was getting in Supreme Commander with the 3200+ and a 7800GTX. Your CPU is holding you back!

Even with games released right around the same time as the card’s launch, performance is generally subpar.
Now I'm going to disagree, since I bought and used the card around its launch time. The card was faster than the 9800 Pro I was using before. You might want to check your computer; perhaps it needs to be reformatted. Flag this | Edit this post |
