| | SLI does work quite a bit better than Crossfire in terms of game support, but the fact that Nvidia still doesn't allow you to use a multiple monitors with it enable really sucks. After you account for the higher power requirements, and extra heat you have to deal with I find both Crossfire and SLI to be just about useless. Not to mention two dual slot cards doesn't allow you to put any other cards in you computer unless you want a card right up against your video card which you don't with the amount of heat these things put off these days. | | This just in Duke Nukem Forever and Hello Kitty's adventure Island also announced as Blockbuster Xbox 360 exclusives. Forget about crappy PS3 exclusives Like God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, and Heavy Rain because this is going to be the greatest gaming year in history thanks the BSbox 360. | | Wow this is the biggest piece of corporate PR bullshirt ever. These so called blockbuster exclusives are a bunch of crap. It is funny how just about everybody's Game of the Year the last two years have Been PS3 exlusives (Little Big Planet 2008, Uncharted 2 last year). Even gamespot's odd selection of Demon's Souls as last year's game of the year is a PS3 exclusive. God of War III will be 10 times the game of all these so called blockbuster exclusives combined. Hell GOW III's only likely competition for GOTY this year will be if Gran Turismo 5 actually gets released this year. Talk about grasping at straws MS. Natal will only have a 5 year lifespan if last for 4 years on Xbox 720 or whatever they call it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I seriously doubt that. Sony went with a long term strategy with the PS3 and it will most likely outsell the Xbox360 over the long haul and the Xbox/Xbox360 has never meant anything outside the US and never will. Keep your fanboy crap to yourself. Besides the gamecube wasn't really that bad of a system and a gamecube with motions controls now dominates the console market. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The problem is they are not lowering the prices. IMHO they are still charging way too much for their consoles considering the lack of integrated Blu-ray,WiFi, or even a HD in the lowest SKU. The PS3 offers more bang for your buck when you consider MS charges $100 for wi-fi and uses a proprietary HD that is not even standard, and doesn't include a HD movie player. Sony new the the sales of the PS3 would be slow at first but they are really starting to pick up momentum now that the format war is over. If MS doesn't get off their arses and offer some much better sku's they are going to find themselves in last place. For crying out loud the system has been out for close to 3 years by now so I think it should be much cheaper than it currently is. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | More interactive environments is a very good reason, and yes it needs all the processing powwer you can throw at it. Graphics have improved expontially while the interactivity and destructability of environments is no better now than it was 10 years ago. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Two video cards is pushing in my opinion. I have two 8800 GTS sli'ed in a pretty big case and that takes up a lot of space and generates a lot of heat to disipate. I bought a PhysX card dirt cheap about a month ago just to run the UT3 enabled maps. They are pretty sweet but crash a lot. Hopefully Nvidia gets the drivers straightened out. Hopefully they mean the G80 core as well as the G92 core, should be. This should definitely get more developers on board. Hopefully they will allow be to use my existing physX card with one of my 8800s for physics because a highly interactive environment would beat a little more eye candy because in my opinion graphics have been basically good enough for a couple years now and we have definitely reached a point of diminishing returns, but nobody has really even scratched the surface of interactive destrucable environments. This could be huge for gaming if takes off. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | There are plenty of legitimate complaints about Vista. I know a lot of people are just anti MS and just parroting what they hear or making stuff up, but that doesn't mean that there haven't been legimate users with problems. I think people on both sides of the issue are exagerating. Is Vista the worthless piece of crap some are making it out to be? Of course not, but neither is it the perfect OS as others claim and no it isn't as stable as XP was at release or a year later. I consider myself to be fairly knowledgable on the subject as I have a quad boot system XP Pro, XP Media Center, Vista Home Premium 32 bit and Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Do you really believe that nonsense you are spouting or are you just starting to start a flame war? I'm sure you are just an internet troll trying to start a flame war, but I won't sink to your level because I don't really care who wins but at this point with no more movies being released on HD-DVD the chances of it winning are slim to none. Actually there is a good chances both will go the same way as SACD and DVD-Audio. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | That is like predicting that next month will be March. The Xbox and Xbox360 have virtually no market presence outside of the US. Never had and never will. I know I will get flamed by MS fanboys for this but I'm not commenting on which machine is better because the answer to that question is neither, it just depends on what you want your console to do and how long you want it to last. The Xbox360 is nearing the end of it's life cycle anyway so it is obvious that the sales for it would start declining, so anyone buying a console at this point should either get a PS3 or start saving for the Xbox720 which is probably only a year and a half away based on Microsoft's previous release cycle. | | Fuck you retard. I wish all you faggots who like to lick Bill Gates balls would quit flaming everyone who has problems with vista. Everyone I know has problems with Vista, because they use it for more than looking at kiddie porn like you and raj do. It is ridiculous that you douche bags make personal attacks on everyone that thinks Vista is a bloated piece of shit, so that there can't even be a rational discusion. You probably blasted everyone who hated ME as well. You two idiots need to get a life, better yet end your lifes because you're both more worthless than Vista. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | For some reason it wouldn't let me reply to your previous personal attack on me. I've had plenty of experience with Vista. Just because it works on your machine doesn't mean it is a great OS. I doubt you have ever built a computer in your life, you most likely just use your dell to surf for kiddie porn. Eat shit and die dicklips. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Blu-ray is not Sony. There are 13 other companies on it's board of directors with most major movie studios being members. HD-DVD is just Toshiba with Microsoft throwing money at it in an attempt to derail both competing standars because they have some crazy idea that people will download hd movies from them. The comparision to the whole Beta/VHS except it is HD-DVD that is more like Beta (with the exception that Blu-Ray is technically superior). Blu-ray is the open standard and HD-DVD is properitary Toshiba. It is Toshiba that had ambtions of single handedly controlling the HD format, not Sony. I know I am going to get flamed by the HD-DVD fanboys, but I own a Toshiba HDTV and absolutely love it (I'm not a big fan of the two dead upconversion Toshiba DVD players I threw away). Toshiba's crappy DVD players are the main reason I bought a PS3. I wanted a HD movie player and was very leary of Toshiba. I have been very happy with the quality of Blu-ray movies and the PS3 as a Blu-ray player. It's near instant boot time and disc recognition beats the hell out of the several minutes it takes toshiba's HD-DVD players. All three of my Toshiba DVD players were/are slow as crap as well (my hybrid Toshiba DVD-Audio/SACD player still works for now but that is most likely due to lack of use). | | At this point it is Blu-rays war to lose. I just don't see HD DVD having any chance to win, their only hope is to drag the war on long enough so that both standards fail like SACD and DVD Audio (which is a shame because I might actually buy some new music if it was recored in 5.1 at 96 khz). Microsoft is only supporting HD DVD because it wants Blu-ray to fail so they can control the standards. That leaves Toshiba as the only true HD DVD supporter against the entire rest of the hardware industry and the majority of the the studios. Add to this the fact that HD DVD's protection has already been cracked and it should be obvious that no studio that isn't given $250 million by microsoft is going to exclusively support HD DVD, while most will go to Blu-ray exclusivity to simplify production and protect their content. With it's scratch proof discs and higher capacity that enables uncompressed audio and less compressed video Blu-ray is just plain superior anyway. The Sony haters just need to get over it. As another poster has already proven Blu-ray isn't a Sony thing anyway, they are just one of 18 board of directors with no more authority than any other board member. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I've got 8800 gts's sli'd. Before I was only able to play the game at 1280 by 960 with medium settings to get what I consider playable framerates. After the patch I am running the game at 1680 by 1050 with high settings and am getting better performance than I was before. I think they still have some more optimizing to do, but at least now you notice a definite performance increase with SLI instead of it actually being outperformed by a single card like before. | | McDonald's is grossly oversimplifying the problem to absolve themselves of blame. They deserve plenty of the blame, much more than video games. The problem is like other have stated McDonald's has become an everyday meal for many children whose parents either don't have the time or simply don't want to cook their children a decent meal. When you factor in the information age that we are now in where most people work at computers instead of working much more manual labor intensive like were prevenlent in the past the factors start multiplying. Although it is not fair to totally blame McDonald's for the problem they are a larger factor that video games alone, because after all video games contain no calories and can't make you fat alone. It is a combination of more fast food and less physical activity. McDonald's, parents and schools deserve far more blame than video games. I am a lifetime hardcore gamer, but I also engage in physical activities and don't eat fast food everyday and I'm 6'3" and 160 lbs. Hardly what you would call fat and I'm almost 34 years old. Everyone I know be it gamer or non gamer is fatter than me. McDonald's need to quit playing the blame game and start taking their share of the blame and add healthier menu choices.
