| | Console shooters don't even get consideration for game of the year. The Halo series sucks no matter how much Xbox fanboys argue otherwise. I'll admit GoW has great graphics (no shit it uses the Unreal 3 engine), but console shooters are pure unadulatered crap, end of discussion. Now I'll go ahead and cast my vote for game of the year next year, that will undoubtly be UT2007 (a more appropriate use of the UT 3 engine), but this year, Xboy, it has to go to Zelda. | | Actually AMD is the one that needs to catch up. The best we can honestly hope for from the K8L is AMD catching up with intel's Kentsfield, and I doubt intel will just sit still from the next 6 to 12 months. Don't get me wrong I'm a borderline AMD fanboy but we need a architectural overhaul from AMD to keep competition going. Whatever happened to new core the were working on. It was originally codenamed K9 until the changed that to the dual core athlon64s, then was changed to K10. is K8L now the K10, and if so does anyone know when they are actually going to significantly overhaul the core like they did between the athlon and the athlon 64. | | Hard to call it free when you have to pay a monthly fee to play it. I still don't see how these companies actually get people to buy a game that you have to pay a fee to pay. | | Wow. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks the Half-Life series gets really boring after a few hours. If it wasn't for Counter Strike people wouldn't even remember any of the Half-Life games. I'm glad I rembered HL2 bored me to tears half way through and didn't buy this expansion. I've got to call bullshit on this one. I am really getting sick and tired of these companies claiming they are losing money on new electronics. Creative accounting can say whatever you want it to just like opinion polls. Fact of the matter is if all these companies were as generous as they try to make it seem buy selling hardware at a loss they would be out of business. It is just a trick to make you think you are getting a bargain on your $500 to $1000 Xbox360, PS3, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, etc. etc. etc. I'm sure this is all figured by calculating the entire R&D and testing expenses on the initial shipments of a new product. Automobile manufactures could do the same thing with a new car design and claim to lose millions per car sold. The fact of the matter is all of these companies are owned by money hoarding greedy fat bastards so I gaurantee they aren't really losing any money. It is gotten to be where Nintendo is one of the only companies I have any respect for because they have never tried to feed us this we are losing so much money line of bullshit before. Everyone also said the gamecube was way under powered, but if you take your fanboy goggles off and looked you would see it arguably the most powerful of the previous generation of consoles. The gamecube produces far richer colors than either the Xbox or PS2 and when all the smoke clears and all the fan boys shut up I'm sure it will end up the same this round. Even though Nintendo has said it won't release any specs on the Wii you are positive that it is a die shrunk gamecube. I'm sure of something too, that you are a liar and an idiot. Your opinions are fanboy drivel, not fact. I'm sure you are going to label me as a Nintendo fanboy, but actually the only thing I dislike more than consoles are console fanboys. If you own a gaming PC and aren't in love with boring final fantasy games then their isn't any reason to own a Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, or PS3 because they only reason second hand PC games with horrible controls. It just burns me up that Nintendo is the only one trying to inovate and come up with an original thought and morons like you bash them for it. I'm not saying I'm going to buy any of these so called next gen consoles (more like last generation pcs, because the 6800 based graphics chip powering PS3 is going to be really dated by the time it ships) but the only one I will even seriously look at will be the Wii.
