| | Guys.. worked for AMD for two years. You are playing a crap shoot. You could verywell get what is called a downcore, which means you have a 4 core proc with one core disabled "due to it having a fault" or you get a legitimate 3 core proc that came off the line with just 3 cores due to silicon quality. If you where odering one because you wanted one and you get 4 cores that is cool. But if you ordered one because you want a 4 core and are trying to save money, you may be disappointed, because there may not be a 4th core there at all. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Not sure if you actually have to have a hotmail account or just an ms live account. I go to hotmail.com and sign in with my yahoo.com email address. The page says I do not have an inbox setup, and if I did I would need to make a hotmail account, but my MS live profile works fine. I have contacts and everything. | | I will defend amd because I used to work for them.. and actually worked on this one a bit towards the end.. however.. I do have to say that the X3 is nothing more than a broken quad-core. Not that you didn't already know that.. but AMD doesn't want to put product to waste. 4 cores wouldn't play nice together but 3 would.. so lets sell that. Heh.. anyone remember the 486sx processor? | | Oh good god.. XP was a buggy POS compaired to 2K when it came out. Same with Vista. Stop whining and deal with it. MS wants to make money and doesn't give a piss about you, nor have they ever. If you want to us MS products you deal with it or go elsewhere. As for the corp IT comment. If your company is big enough MS will pay you to upgrade as is the case with Dell and other companies. | | Heh..10 years + at Dell.. hell I'm even still working close with them now. This time these jobs aren't going overseas. Instead Dell is doing what they should have done before the 01 layoffs. They are simply making the people they have work harder. They cut one of the labs in half and pretty much doubled everyone's workload. Not very fun times around that place right now.
