After its discovery the toxin became little more than a footnote in medical textbooks until Philip Beachy, a research scientist at Johns Hopkins University, discovered that it had anti-carcinogenic properties. He showed that when applied correctly the toxin was capable of stopping several types of the most aggressive cancerous tumors that account for 25 percent of cancer deaths. Cyclopamine blocks an essential gene for embryonic development called Sonic Hedgehog, which was named after the Sega character because a mutation in the gene results in an embryo covered by pointy, hedgehog-like denticles. In a happy coincidence of nature, the gene is also a culprit for deadly cancers in the pancreas, thyroid, prostate, skin and esophagus.

| | Not true.. the majority of people that work at game studios have very little to do with the actual game development. Most of the time they are people that just take up space, waiting for something to do. Like writers, animators, audio techs, stabillity/test techs, PR reps and Admins. | | Get a grip people.. That system was not a US Shipped system. The EPA in foreign countries like Europe and China prohibit any electronic merchandise from being non-biodegradable. That means you have to make the components out of parts that all will degrade naturally. Needless to say non-us computers and accessories bursting into flames is NOTHING UNCOMMON.
