| | So Nintendo has been shipping Wii's for a few weeks and a already there are at least two law suits filed against it in the United States. Every time a company develops an innovative new product and sells it in the U.S., the trial lawyers are falling over each other, frantically filing law suits in the hopes that they can convince the typically gullible and ignorant American jury to award them millions. I wonder if the Nintendo executives in Japan were making bets as to how long it would be before the law suits started in the U.S. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yeah, I think Aliens is one of the best franchises out there. I remember playing Alien vs Predator 2 and it was almost too scary. If a new Alien game is really well done using cutting edge graphics, I might consider getting a 360 or PS3. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Why can't people live and let live? That bear was probably minding his own business when those "bored" kids decided it would be fun to have it killed. It must be just an unthinking, basic human instinctive drive to kill all other life. I see stories like this all the time. Like a guy in Florida who killed the largest ever hammerhead shark for no real reason, that was about to give birth to 50 young. Or the Japanese who have an annual dolphin slaughter to prevent them from eating their sushi. Here is a link to a video about how the Earth has a terminal case of the deadly human parasites. | | Interlink Electronics has requested a trial by jury. Probably because they know that the average person chosen for jury duty can be easily confused on technical legal points by a slick talking persuasive lawyer. It seems like an entire industry based on this exploit has been created in the US. For the best chance at winning, they should have had the case filed somewhere like Georgia, where I'm pretty sure I read the average IQ is something like 85. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The patent was filed in 1997. The Nintendo 64's controller had a central "Z" trigger button and it was released in late 1996 (Japan and North America) and 1997 (Europe). So yes this should be ruled "prior art". You can't just take someone else's existing designs and decide you should be able to patent them. At least you shouldn't. Who knows with US courts. Keeps the lawyers busy anyway. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I read the patent #6850221 and it vaguely describes a "triggered operated device in the nature of a pointing device for use with an electronic system", or a wireless mouse, but I don't see any details of how it would actually work, just general design ideas. It goes into detail of how a trigger button interacts with a switch to close a circuit, which is how any electronic button works. This is called patent squatting. The US legal system is a joke. Sometimes I just think that entire country is rotting from the inside out. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Are you serious? Typical american mentality where there's more lawyers than engineers or scientists. Always looking for an easy buck without working for it. Easiest to just seize it from someone else right? One day, when the bubble that is the US dollar pops, China is going to stop sending it's containers to Walmart, and the US wont have a clue know how to make the stuff themselves. | you fantasized about Wesley Crusher?
I remember an episode where Yar asked Data if he was anatomically complete. Data replied "yes of course, and I am trained to use it with 47 different techniques" or something. Yar then enthusiastically pulled him into her quarters. I imagined the scene with Data mechanically thrusting away with his stoic poker face. Made me laugh to think about it. | | I wouldn't have thought eBay would have allowed lotteries on their site. How can you be sure that someone will actually get shipped the PS3? Nowhere does it say the winner is selected randomly. He could send it to a friend. If the seller actually does intend to ship a PS3, then I would think they would send out bags of crap until the last one to make sure they at least get their money back. I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Here's a link to a Washington Post article about how the Japanese government encourages an annual dolphin slaughter as a “cultural tradition” and how new research findings in dolphin intelligence makes this practice an outrage. Up to 20,000 are killed annually. The actual reason is just senseless greed as they claim the dolphins compete with the fishermen in their fishing grounds. They call it “pest control”. The fishermen probably noticed their catches were getting smaller and blame the dolphins rather than their decades of over-fishing with their massive dragnets. I think it is safe to assume that the tuna cans in Japan don’t have “dolphin safe” labels. There's an on-line petition on at http://www.actfordolphins.org which will hopefully deliver a million signatures of protest to the government of Japan. | | As for addressing lingering black resentment against whites for historical reasons, let's try and not forget the historical fact that it wasn't the white Europeans that initiated the concept of enslaving Africans. It was dominant African tribes that raided weaker tribes and offered them as slaves to the highest bidder. This was a practice that was going on long before Europeans ever set foot in Africa. It was actually a concept that was common throughout the ancient world. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I agree with Chodabomb. People need to stop crying over words and be thicker skinned. Don't Americans learn the childhood rhyme "sticks and stones..."??? It is just a word. It is just a vibration of air which is formed by vocal cords, lips and a tongue while exhaling. These vibrations can have different meaning from person to person, and those meanings change over time. Hate is something different. Someone that hates another race will still hate that race whether or not they use a word. They are simply advertising that fact when they utter slurs. Americans get so uptight about the most trivial things when they have so many major issues to worry about. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The Wii looks interesting.
Anyway, I just want to say: The amount of advertisements on this site is getting to be RIDICULOUS. There are so many banners loading and monsters running across the screen that it is actually slowing down how fast I can scroll down. (I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my vid drivers or something). Where is the line going to be drawn? It's getting to the point where serving ads is the primary function of this site and actual content is an afterthought. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | What happened to finding a challenge fun or getting better at something being fun?? Hey I have an idea, why not let the computer handle everything for you and you can just sit back and watch the screen, gleefully watching your hard-earned points rack up. Wow that would be so much fun. Then you could free up your hands to jam donuts in your mouth while you watch the action. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | No, my view distance is set to max. Being curious, I searched BF2 hacks and I have seen videos of BF2 wall hacks and and things like enemy location indicators so that when you are flying the jet you can see and bomb troops easily. There are services where you can pay a monthly fee for updated hacks. It's unbelievable what completely depraved assholes people can be when they think they are anonymous. | | I wish all on-line games did this. I was playing BF2 the other day on the Sharqi Peninsula map and this guy took our loaded boat out twice with a TOW missile way before we could get close enough to see him. It's also obvious a lot of people are using wall hacks. it is a waste of time to try and hide or sneak around, they always know where you are. Flag this | Edit this post |

| haha! Reminds me of the old Robocop movie where they are demonstrating a robot assault model and it says something like "drop your weapon or I will shoot in 5 seconds" and the demonstrator drops the gun but there is a glitch and it doesn't recognize that properly and kills him anyway.
So now we have the first generation Terminator. I imagine someone is developing fully autonomous flying hunter-killer versions as well. As for blinding the cameras, all it needs is layers of film that are automatically removed when they get dirty. I have seen those on race car cams. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Looks like to me that you knew this was an obvious misprint and jumped on it hoping it would go through. Then when the company realized their mistake, you are trying to use technical legal principles to justify the enforcement of an unfair transaction. Calling this "getting stepped on" is very much an exaggeration. As for the technicalities: if there is an obvious mistake made in the offer, it is not an enforceable contract. Whether or not the offered price is an "obvious mistake" is what would be up for question. Regardless, ethically, you don't have a leg to stand on in my opinion. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | How are the in-game advertisements a separate issue?? They are IN THE GAME. It is an audacious, ground breaking new development in gaming. It is the one thing that is making me reluctant to buying it. I would have appreciated some opinions on how intrusive they are and how exactly they glean information from your system and how they use it. I feel this is very relevant information for a review. | | I would think that the muzzle velocity of the first few rounds would be fairly low as they would have less barrel length to accelerate through. Each successive round would have increasingly higher velocities until only the last round would have the velocity a conventional system would have. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Are you implying that all Mexican men are closet homosexuals just waiting for an excuse to have anal sex with each other!!!
If not, then are you implying that there is something funny or wrong with homosexual bum sex?
Or maybe you are being condescending and derisive towards the fishing profession??
What is your ethnicity and profession huh? huh?? ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| It seems like you are implying that the comment about fajitas is racist, which obviously was not the intention. Maybe he should have done a thorough study of the actual dietary habits of Mexicans beforehand to prevent the possiblity of making comments that will offend the overly uptight political-correctness police.
Then you turn around and "take a potshot" at someone's name for sounding foreign??? What a hypocrite!!!! Flag this | Edit this post |
