| » OutRage I was outraged by RAGE. While having cool content, I really hated not being able to jump up on things , it didn't feel like an id game even. The ... movement of looking seemed...artificially smooth, unrefined.
This is what I meant by simplistic.
Croteam's success is the beautiful simplicity of this game, old school! Flag this | Edit this post |

| » lol hilarious! Good on ya, guys for having a sense of humor!
cool! I'm definitely buying this game as this development team caters to PC gamers.
I encourage every old school, hardcore FPS gamer to not only play the beautiful and shiny BF3 but to PURCHASE made-for-pc shooters. I'm so sick of playing simplistic console ports. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Press [Enter] While loving id Games over the years, starting with Doom, I have to say... Rage feels ... Like a console port. First id game I haven't been able to jump on desks, counters etc. Feels too smooth. I like the intricacy of movement and fully interact with the environment - still a kick ass game so far. Artistry. | » Great Potential It's lots of fun - sure there are problems but I gotta say, I've had much worse first impressions of a BF demo/beta/game. I remember when BF2 came out, took ages to load levels, crashes all over the place... BF3 Beta actually ran very fast on my machine (only 50FPS but still...)
I hate EA, I dislike Orgin (Battlelog is kinda cool though) but they've got a game here with great potential. I hope it turns out well. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Germany Pre World War 2 Germany had some of the coolest culture this world had to offer. You know that Doors song, Whiskey Bar? It was actually a song written Pre World War 2.
So What Happened? People fell asleep at the wheel and were distracted , just as they are today. Most people don't actually believe the garbage and set-up issues we watch on CNN but they do go along with it and that's all that is needed for a country of great people to be hijacked by very evil people. And that's what's happened. Don't think we will become as bad as Nazi Germany? Think Again. The people in charge are just as evil and think so little of you - It's just not as overt. | » Unfortunately.... Unfortunately, Government will always try to use the excuse of "protecting the youth" (along with many, many others) to restrict and interfere with the individuals life. It's not that they care about the minds of young people you see, it's that things like Tobacco, Alcohol, Violent Video Games, Porno give them a pretext to add more laws and poke their nose into your life MORE. | » Extra Software by EA? No Thanks. I have always disliked EA's software. I don't trust them with Orgin. Most likely it will be full of memory leaks, inefficient netcode and probably COD's all over the place. That's what I would expect from EA.
There was a time where if a game said EA on the box I would grit my teeth and ask myself if I -really- wanted to purchase this title? It's weird as I know they are a publisher /distributor of video games and didn't necessarily code the game but it just seems, with EA on the box, we get unfinished, buggy games. I really hope they either evolve as a company or go down the tubes.
I'll be passing on Orgin until I hear multiple accounts of clean running software. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Cool! Even if he doesn't win - it still brings REAL issues to the table instead of this left vs right dog and pony show the vast majority of the public is SOOOOO easily manipulated by.
Vote for this guy if you value your Personal freedoms in real life AND on the Interwebs.

| » They did a good job... It's a great TW game - Huge step up from Empire.
Unfortunately, the MOD tools are probably the last priority. The game itself is beautiful, somewhat deep and has replay value, however, not anywhere close to M:TW/2 R:TW. It's a different beast - Japan is small and it's a civil conquest, not the continent of Europe and parts of Asia so this is a different animal all together and RIPE for DLC.
I just hope they give us a M:TW3/R:TW2 that has TONS of units, varieties in countries you can play etc. Flag this | Edit this post |

I'm really hoping for this one - After CiV I was really disappointed. Both Civ and Total War are my favorite Strategy games and after being totally let down by CiV I have put all my stock into this game. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Civ V? Come on! Civ V has been dumbed down. Civ Was not a casual, streamlined experience like the latest incarnation. While there are some welcome changes, I believe it has been a step backward in some respects. Maybe as they patch it more and can provide us with an expansion that retains the same complexity and variety... Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Go ahead and take your time We always seem to complain at how unpolished games are these days. When a company finally does we bitch about how long it takes.
Doom 3 was polished to some degree, it just sucks that it became to repetitive.
I think what we're going to have here is an incredibly rich, unique world that is very polished but also has stellar gameplay which Doom 3 didn't really have in my opinion - Sure it was fun, it looked pretty (those darkly lit rooms with a swinging light still make my jaw drop when everything is cranked). I'm expecting a single player experience as clever as Half Life this time around - Lets see if they get it right. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » I'm not entirely convinced Wikileaks is the real deal. Not yet, anyways. John Young of Cryptome.org who worked with Assange claims that it has been being run by CIA. Governments are notorious for hijacking organizations like this for obvious reasons... Only time will tell though.
The American people are not supposed to see Family's getting blown apart in Iraq and Afghanastan even though it happens very frequently and often with direction from superiors. There is -supposed- to be a mental disconnect, a barrier that lets the American people at least not violently oppose the war. I think it's very good that this is being covered as -that- is what is going on, what we pay for with our tax dollars and what politicians and the military are doing in our name.
These wars are NOT for US dominance - These wars are making the country very weak now and in the long term. These wars are for the banks who control our governments and who don't give a damn about a nice, first world country that have been built on liberty and representation. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Interesting Note.. Many good game makers have said this before.
It's a look to the future for Blizzard more than anything as both Government and Corporations want to see big changes to the internets as we know them. Where their interests converge is Control over the internet. The government and mainstream media both want people back to cnn.com and other mainstream news sites while the corporate mainstream media wants it's viewers back. Big game and other software companies would like a controlled internet and the entire computing world in general.
It is interesting to note that if the establishment gets their way the internets as we know them will drastically change. There will always be people willing to try and pirate (period) and especially as long as the draconian DRM exists. What I fear the most is all these established interests converging and consolidating into changing the internet from a tool of information for the everyday person into a landscape where they control everything.
This is already well on it's way to being achieved, however, they have met significant resistence in terms of freedom of speech and the freedom to create your own website with your own views or views that are not the same as the corporate media view point.
Blizzard is just coming out and saying this because they know in the coming years you won't have to worry about DRM within your games, you'll have to worry about draconian DRM implemented straight into your OS, Web Browser... built straight into a new internet infastructure that they can shut down at any time, censor etc etc.
They need a large cyber attack to get this through and they will either let one happen or make one up to get this passed. They will try for it but I don't think it will happen. Flag this | Edit this post |

The Central Banks of the world have robbed us blind, we are engaged in 2 wars under false pretexts while we pay more tax for less and less services while the majority of the population is distracted from garbage news like this. Bah!

Duke Nukem was about running and gunning, blasting apart non-human-life forms and some cool puzzles thrown in as I recall (man, that seems like a LONG time ago.. since.. Duke Nukem 3D was it called?).
Should be entertaining - Maybe they'll release it for 15 bucks or something. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » The Real Truth... The real truth is not only is there trillions to be made by not finding cures and all kinds of other treacherous activity but the people that own the giant Pharm are the same people who own giant Military and Banks, who issue currency to our governments - These people not only don't give a damn about you but are actively sterilizing you, putting fluoride in your water, mercury in your vaccines and feeding you GMO so you end up dumbed down and die at an early age. The elite of this world hates the middle class - They want to take everything from you, enslave you and have you die. Sounds crazy, eh? Well, it is but it -is- happening.
