| Like others have mentioned before, it depends what app you will use to judge performance.
If it can take advantage of all 4 cores, then your best bet is to get the fasted quad core.
If it does not, or only takes advantage of dual cores, then the best performance will come from the raw Mhz of each core. So if phenom CPU frequency > x2 then phenom will be faster. If x2 Mhz > phenom, then it will run the apps faster.
But in all honesty you would be better off in the long run getting a quad core. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Having been a former owner of an AIW card (which BTW they where amazing back in the day), I have to agree that the GPU and tuner components should be on separate cards. Like somebody above me mentioned, GPU becomes trash pretty quick at which point you are lestf with 2 choices: use a crappy GPU to keep the tuner functionality or buy another AIW card to upgrade your GPU (but keep paying over and over for components you already have). | We all know laying off people is the way to fight recessions, right?
Anybody with a clue that has done university level economics course knows a recession is nothing more than negative growth during 2 consecutive cycle, usually followed by positive growth. So overall the economy can still grow and be called a recession year.
And it's part of the normal cycle. Often times recessions reduce rampant iflation and can prevent a depression, which is acutally what we should be worried about, not recessions.
Essentially recessions trim the fat out of the economy and prevent it from ballooning, like what is happening in China right now. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I feel the exact same thing.
SC was amazing at the time.
This game soo far just seems like it's sc1 but with a 3d engine and a few units added on.
I have lost faith in Blizzard since WoW. At first WoW was amazing, but it's lack of content at the end makes it very boring and tedious.
I think Blizzard has mastered the art of taking something that already works, adding their shine and polish and good storyline, but they rarely ever take risks and innovate anymore.Back in the days this was enough, but now most developers have caugh on and a lot of them relased polished games with solid sotry lines. This game will obvious be a huge success that for sure, the real question is if it will be remebered with as much fondness as the first one, or turn out to be another wc3. | Funny how he conveniently forgets to mention that both games use activation keys and you need to have a non pirated one to play online/receive updates.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, but lets just be honest here for a moment and acknowledge the fact they are not doing it for their customers. They just figured out that there is no need to pay $$$ to copy protect a game since people who pirate the game will essentially be playing a crippled version. No online play (which for me at least is why I play these types of games, CPU AI gets boring real fast). Also both games happen to ship with some annoying bugs....hmmmmm very curious.... | Playing the game right now.
Not bad, but it's a little confusing...cause some parts of it feel like a 4x game, others like your standard RTS.
I also have to say lack of a backstory and single player campain sorta hurts it. There is no way you will be ready after doing the tutorials for online play.
All in all it's defiunately a good game, but there is no "wow" factor to keep all but the hardcore 4x/RTS playing. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Hmmmm.... what to do what to do.... I got a 8800 GT not too long ago, I can return it. I am debating if I should get keep it or get the 9600. I know it outperforms the 9600 but not by any significant margin, and certainly not $60 worth. But then again I did get a copy of CoH with my 8800...hmmm Flag this | Edit this post |

| It's not just the wii, look around the Nintendo DS is also sold out everywhere, at least in NE NA....I live in Montreal and checked stores as farsouth as New York and found nothing.
Every online retailer is sold out.
It's hard for me to imagine that they are having problems supplying a console that is more than 2 years old now...
Something is up, and I think they are purposely holding back supply so as to generate some "buzz".... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Bah I am not too worried about that. Even if all the current PC developers would stop releasing stuff on the PC, a bunch of garage based companies will once again surface and start releasing games for a reasonable price, just like the good old days.
Remember with PC, you get a huge install base and no royalty fees :D So for a startup, it's the obvious path to take. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » 1 step forward 2 steps back Anybody remember back in the earlier days of the Net, when the best connection was 28k over dial-up, when you had several options some based on time connected, others on how much bandwith used etc etc?
There is a reason why the flat rate unlimited time/bandwidth won out.
But alas, all greedy corporations see is how to make more money selling us the exact same service.
Under normal circumstances this would make sense, since it would be up to the market forces that would set the price, but most areas have monopolies or quasi monopolies (2 options is not really a "free" market, collusion is a serious issue).
/sigh....seriously why do I get the feeling some major behind the scenes guys are trying to kill, or at the very leats nutere the Internet..... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Kinda dissapointing. It looks exaclty like SC with a 3d engine.
Looks nice and all, but it was overall a mehhh feeling for me.
I doubt this will bea as good as the original, since most people who where working for Blizzard back then have moved on to other companies. But still one can always hope... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Uhhh why is WoW on that list?
It's an MMORPG...By definition your level, gear, faction, race, class ALL affect your performance when you fight an opponent!!!!!!
Unless they make it same race/class vs same race/class it's quite stupid...And even then there are chance events like resist/misses thatyou have no control over that can effect the outcome..... Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think it's a little unfair to point the finger exclusively at MS for this....
Companies like Dell and HP are just as guilty of misleading their clients.
That's not to say that MS did not go along with it....
If only they had been more upfront with their clients and actually told them that it will meet with the absolute minimum system requirements...all this could have been avoided. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well technically games like WoW don't need to be on the top 10 selling lists to be making hundres of millions...
It's still a big surprise that it's there....Means there are still tons of people signing up to WoW
It's going to be become the most money making game in history (if it has not already). This game has made more money than the biggest movie EVER. Flag this | Edit this post |

| it's about time Irwin was removed from the human genome. too bad he already bred :(
There is a reason why humans are biologically programmed to fear certain animals: BECAUSE THEY ARE DANGEROUS....does not mean we should wipe them out, they have a place in this world.
And for all his speak of conseravtion and etc, how mnay creatures you think he has traumatized by harassing and capturring them for his tv audience.
At least his children will be safe now. Flag this | Edit this post |
