| As I said I only ever saw 1 XBox ad, and so far NO X360 ads... (this is the UK)
I'm gonna get one anyway (when they drop in price), but a good ad for the hardware would show:
- the difference between standard and high def i.e. 4 times the detail per pixel or whatever
- wireless controllers
- XBox live MP gaming
- downloadable content
People like you and I are aware of all this, but only because of sites like this that do in-depth hardware comparisons and articles like "10 things the XBOX360 does better than anyone else". What I'm saying is that 'the guy on the street' doesn't know about any of it.
I think Sony have much better marketing in this respect - otherwise why do they have so many more fanboys? They have so many TV spots in the UK, they sponsor international football games on TV and so much more.

| I'm not impressed with MS marketing at all. When I bought the first XBox 4 years ago I hadn't seen even one TV advertisement... a little afterwards there was a great 'Play More' commercial showing a baby being born, flying through the air and getting older at a rapid pace, before falling out of the sky and into a grave as an old man... but that was the ONLY example I've seen in the lifetime of the original XBox.
I have seen NO commercials for the 360 or the Zune on TV or in cinemas. How are kids supposed to know what MS has to offer if it isn't shown on their televisions? Flag this | Edit this post |

| "The PS2 with its much lower price sold over 300,000 units in September while Microsoft's Xbox 360 sold over 259,000 units and now has a current install base of close to 2.7 million units in the US."
Is this really stating that EVEN in the US, the PS2 is selling more units than the X360??
I knew that was the case in Japan, but in the US too... wow. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Optional features should remain that way. I don't want a HD movie player yet. Wait until there are more titles and the hardware price has come down then I'll be happy to pay $150 for an add-on. All I want is a console that plays games at the best possible price. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | With a 42" HD TV, lots of RAM, HDD on board, compatibility with USB keyboards/mice and running some Windows code, I don't think it's that much of a leap to run ordinary productivity apps on a 360. Hell, I'd be happy to use a wireless keyboard/trackball combo from my couch. Flag this | Edit this post |
